China doesn't need to watch out for anything. "Strategic ambiguity" or not, PLA is already developing/procuring weapon systems, and training with the assumption that the US will intervene militarily

A direct confrontation between China and the US I believe should be a last resort. Casualties on either side will warrant a payback which would lead to escalation.
Hopefully, China will widen the gap between its capabilities vs its adversaries to the point where China's overwhelming advantage will deter its enemies from making any foolish move.

I am positive USA is not using its own personal for Taiwan, as it’s a direct war with a nuclear
country, yea with all other ways and means for Taiwan like USA is providing for Ukrainian war
but not using its own army on Ukrainian soil same will happen with Taiwan too, and my thought
is China has to finish the war if they going for one asap hopefully not like Ukrainian one
we all should consider Ukraine more near to USA heart as compare to Taiwan loosing Taiwan
might not heart USA that much as compare to loosing Ukraine

If the average Taiwanese bar hopper could easily beat up several US special forces, PLA would really have no chance.

I too use to think all the PLA formalism stuff like folding quilt into a little square each day and marching was a waste of time. But having grown older and seen what it's like to manage people I get it, it's all part of a system to instil discipline and esprit de corps. Ironically it was Whampoa Military Academy that came up with a lot of these and PLA inherited it thanks to many early commanders being Whampoa graduates. ROC abandoning it isn't going to do the quality of their troops any services. See the difference between PLA and Indian army when hand to hand fighting is required.
