But one has to admit that such design layout (not talking about the mechanical realities here) would be better than that on the real QBZ-95 series.
Apart from being a highly suspicious picture, this is a plausible direction of improvement for original QBZ-95, yes.
According to my experience, the thing that looks like a 'handle' on real QBZ-95 is actually not a handle at all.
When I was doing a 5000m cross country course with all equipment during my military training, I (and many others) used the handle-like thing as a handle while running, the drill sergeant slapped his hand on our helmets really hard, saying that may cause irreversible deformation on that thing.
Furthermore, the 'handle' is too 'tall' and thus affects the line of sight. It is not obvious when using the iron sight, but it would be really inconvenient if an optical or ACOG sight is installed. Changing the 'handle' to tactical rail would be surely welcomed. However, Our small arms designers seemed to have a bad reputation at things like tactical rails and ACOG/optical sights on the said rail.
