This new design in huge step forward. Looking at the first picture it seems to be already in use or at least in field testing.

Reposting last picture of the Type-95 mod that Broccoli missed. For those who didn't see it, all the links broke on the previous page.

The Rail system is not bad, The Charging handle looks fixed and although it's long that can be a good thing. some charging handles that are similarly placed cause the shooter to rap his knuckles on the rails and mounts.

On Mainland China's sites I visited, it was very soon proved to be a fake, as somebody used the upper body of a SCAR-L (duh!) somehow mated with a QBZ-95.

Makes sense, The later models of the QBZ that are official have dropped that form of trigger guard. This is more likely a model. Someone probably gutted a QBZ Air soft Shell and then machined in the Scar Receiver once again from Air Soft.

Maybe a new Chinese submachine gun. Anyone know more?

It's not a SMG its a pistol. Look at the shape of the pistol grip. That's classic SIG. Now there is a line of silver flash between the grip and the receiver, also look into that hole in the receiver along the bottom you can see the pistol's sights the upper portion of the slide and the ejection port. we are seeing is a pistol carbine kit based on a variant of the Sig220 series. Probably a Sig226. Basically you take a pistol and insert it into a assembly with a stock. The stock gives you a short barreled pistol caliber carbine. There are a couple of models on the open market. One that comes to mind if the roni.

It even has the foregrip, and sights. Since its a accessory and not a weapon and since Norinco and HK police have access to Sig226 its not likely that such a product is barred from import.
You can even see the Sig logo on the pistol grips.

From which forum that pic was taken, I was the one who pointed out the answer.

Just saying.

These pictures look really suspicious.

First:

The part inside the red circle is identical to the barrel lock on SCAR-L. This was designed for quick change of gun barrel on SCAR series, and Chinese Type 95 does not have such feature, nor its barrel designed to support this feature.

Second:

By the way, being a Chinese national, I used Type 95 a lot during my military training when I was studying in university, and I can safely say the cartridge ejection port is highly similar to the ones on rubber/plastic mock training model.

My conclusion is, this is a combination of the upper receiver of SCAR-L BB gun and the lower receiver of a mock model Type 95.

PS: If anyone is interested in my experience of college military training, or military training in China's education system as a whole, please tell me and I will open a new thread.

But one has to admit that such design layout (not talking about the mechanical realities here) would be better than that on the real QBZ-95 series.
