PLA Small arms

That rail kit is made by a Canadian company IIRC, and that's a superior alternative to the original design if you ask me. And sure thing it'd look weird without any sight, but you can say the same thing to may other modern rifles that also sports full length Picatinny rail as well, and all you need to do is to install a set of MBUS sight or EOTec holo sight or ACOG to rectify the "weirdness"...

Did you mean that some company imports the original type-97(A) and does modification locally before putting them on the the shelf?

Broccoli posted a link to the system builders, I think the User buys the kit and installs it themselves. Its a after market mod. Looking at the rail system I think it would be possible if someone wanted to farther modify the design to include flip up Back up irons, a fixed unit mounted at the front of the rail.and a small rear unit flipped back, but that's just my opinion.

As it looks its a lot better then the stock system.

No, that company made that as a mod kit for users to buy and made the swap themselves. This thing popped up around late last year, which mainly swap out the original's front upper body (the main, probably CNC aluminium part) and the charging handle that now can be set on either side, depend on how the user prefer to cock his/her Type-97(A).

Should this part is compatible with QBZ-95/A, there's a chance it might be seen with some Chinese police SWAT teams, as police units have more freedom when comes to acquiring and using imported kits than the PLA outfits.

still would like to see a fix for the magazine catch on the Type97 the type seen in the photos is really lame. The button is tiny and on a bullpup, you really don't want something that small. Lots of room for improvement.

I think I saw some picture either in this forum or on the net where someone did put a iron sight on the rail. For some reason, I do not like iron sights that are for the rail system and made it look like that it is "flimsy". IMO, I think having the front sign like a type-81 where it just pop out of the furniture and have a rear sight that can be flipped down at the butt of the rail, in this case, it doesn't look as flimsy or tall like flip up sights that you see for rail systems. This is just my opinion though.

On another question in regarding to Type-95 and its variants, if you use a quad stack magazine in this bullpup, does it affect the users right arm at all or does it have around the same bulge like the special drum magazine for the type-95. (What I mean is the bulge touching the right arm)

I remember we have a "Chinese Military Photo" thread; how come I can't find it? I used the search function and found nothing.

I've never seen this gun before. What is it?

The sub machine gun is a JS9 unless the maker has modified the Type 05 blending in features of the 09.
the bolt is open as He is I think bore siting and checking his zero.

That's the CS/LS2 SMG, have been around for quite some time, though it was around 2012 then it received its model number. Primary for export though some police units in China adopted it.

By the bipod mounting looks like the CS/LR4, but that uses 7.62mm NATO rounds...would that mean this outfit is training for international competition?

That's odd I thought CL/LS 5 was MP5 style smg. And these are definitely part of the type 05 family. Which I thought was exported az JS 9mm.
