That's odd I thought CL/LS 5 was MP5 style smg. And these are definitely part of the type 05 family. Which I thought was exported az JS 9mm.

LS5 is indeed the conventional design, LS2 is the one that derived from Type 05 SMG. JS 9mm was the old name of LS5, CL/LS5 is the "proper" model name after the design is finalised and included into the catalogue.

Okay so I am a little out of date is all.
incidentally the camo pattern on the uniforms looks new, its not army universal and the accessories look the same as those seen with the snipers which is the same pattern worn by the PAP sniper team a few years back, desert PAP? Revised pap pixilated pattern?

When are they going to come out with a QBZ-95 that has a removable carrying handle and picatinny rails for better modularity?

It's definitely PAP.

Yeah the crest on the helmet sealed the deal. And this indicates not one but two replacement patterns. The second being the digital winter we see worn in the photos by the guys with the CL02s it looks like a pixilated version of the old winter pattern worn years ago.

as to a flat top qbz95 don't hold your breath. Perhaps in 2016? But its going to be a while.

Aim at the Canadian market, China introduces the newest export type-97; the T97NSR. According to oversea feedback, Canadian users basically are satisfied with the modification but users also express that there are some drawback of the T97NSR too. For example, the changing of the magazine, the safety button and the installation position of the optical aiming device is too high, ect.

This is what I've been saying all along. They could easily solve this problem by raising the cheek rest part of the buttstock where it's currently lowered instead. Or they could further mod it by installing an adjustable cheek piece like many other rifles. Adjustable length of pull would also be nice. Also the pic rail needs to extend all the way back to the end of the raised section otherwise you may run into problems with eye relief on some scope/mount combos with a BUIS installed as well. Too bad we can't get this thing here in the US as I would love to test fire this rifle.

If the PLA really really wanted Norinco to Make the QBZ95 a really up to date combat weapon they could. the first steps would be to follow the Canadian mod here

Take the Irons form the LS2

and cut them down to fit the rail.

But by the response I saw on the Chinese forums, most simply don't grasp the beauty of such system. It might have to take a small scale conflict for the PLA as a whole to really understand the beauty of universal modular accessories system such as the MIL-STD-1913.
