What I mean is for China to strike military targets inside the US mainland and take out bases, manufacturing, storages etc. That is currently not easy or even likely for China while the reverse is not true. The US do have methods of overwhelming and overcoming air defenses. Even if China takes out US bases in the area and only has to deal with carrier battle groups, they can still strike at targets inside China using cruise missiles and conventionally armed ballistic missiles. China needs to save its own for end of world type scenarios. Anyway that's pure guesswork and speculation on my part.
I don't mean CONUS I mean all the forward US bases in Asia is fair game and all are within reached of IRBM Guam too is not going to be unscathed once the war start
I don't know where you get the idea that it is easy to penetrate China airspace Read this via 52051
During a talk holding in a research workshop, the chief scientist of the China's largest radar group, CETC, Dr Wu Jianqi, told the audience that China's anti-stealth radar is the world most advanced anti-stealth radar.
It solved all the tech difficulties that other countries failed to solve and the 4th generation anti-stealth radar CETC developed, their radar, is the world's only anti-stealth radar that can not only spot but also track and guide fire-control radar to attack enemy stealth aircrafts in a range of over 500 km.
During the talk, he give an example that their last generation anti-stealth radar trackF-22 fighters in East Asia flying 450 km away.
And he told the audience China airforce now cover the entire China coastline with such highly advanced anti-stealth radar, such that US stealth fighters will be meaningless.
Just like I said it before, China's radar tech is likely leave the US in the dust.
Today these metric radars cover all coastal areas.
