After seeing all the straight up immoral and evil shit the US government has done over the past couple years, planting dope is really not even that high on the unbelievableness scale

Also, congratulations to Wang Shun for getting bronze in 200m indiv medley ahead of the American who was a gold contender. Leon Marchand was a full body length ahead but hey for some reason nobody dares to claim he was doping

Remaining swim events with US chances:
50m men's freestyle
100m men's butterfly

1500m men's freestyle (Ireland vs US)
200m men's indiv medley (three way between US Carson, France Leon and China Wang Shun)
4x100 men's medley relay (don't know whether their team is strong this year)

800m women's freestyle (Ledecky)
200m women's indiv medley (Kate)
4x100m women's medley relay (between AUS and US)

US has like 2-3(?) good chances for gold in swimming. Seems like they really might underperform

Two Gold medals for Australia in the pool this evening: Cameron McEvoy in the 50m Freestyle and Kaylee McKeown in the 200m Backstroke, setting a new Olympic record in the process.

This takes Kaylee McKeown to five Olympic Gold medals between Tokyo and Paris (four individual, one relay). And now she has a 1hr turnaround to the semifinals for the 200m individual medley.

Sorry I couldn’t resist watching the 200 IM live and probably jinx Wang Shun. But a bronze medal isn’t to be laughed at especially with French superhuman freak in the race. Wang now has medals in 2 consecutive Olympics in this event. He is the best all round chinese swimmer arguably. Congrats

It’s incredible wat Marchand is doing. How does he have that much endurance and power? Even Phelps didn’t swim breaststroke, butterfly and IM together and marchard won the gold in all of them. He even won this race by close to a body length. Yet no one in the Anglo swimming world is questioning his exploits Just like phelps. It's unfair on the Chinese team.

A lot of clowns are still delusional about what the evil empire is willing and able to do for even the lowest stakes. There is no action too low and no cost too high. As an example, these idiots really think Epstein killed himself, Julian Assange raped children, and Wikileaks is fanfic ROFL. Truly 70 IQ opinions.

Happy for Cam Mcevoy. Congrats.

I have no love for the aus swim team especially when they have a history of whiny racist sore losers like Mack Horton and ZSC. But Mcevoy is a nice guy. I have alot of time for him. He is known to be friendly to chinese swimmers and was very gracious when Ning Zetao beat him in the 100m free world championship 2015. This was him clapping for Ning.

The 50m is so unpredictable. Surprised Dressel didn't even medal but great he didn't get gold. 1 less for US in swimming.

Are there avid swimmers here on SDF? I honestly feel quite nostalgic thinking back to when I swam competitively. Some of these times are just nuts, even considering long course versus short course.
