Basically the consensus of swimming world is utter disbelief at what Pan did today. All the comments are expressing astonishment and amazement at the display of athleticism. GO CHINA!!!

I would say this is China’s greatest achievement in swimming.
Wang Shun winning the 200m IM (best overall swimmer) in Tokyo was the greatest before Pan’s legendary achievement today.

Winning by over a full second in 100m at the Olympics, that is just insane! Is this the first WR in swimming to be set in Paris thus far?

I've been reading that athletes are complaining the pool is shallower than normal hence why no WR before this one I guess.
