Adding ridiculous numbers of western dominated sports like skateboarding, breakdancing, surfing, 3x3 basketball, kayak cross in addition to the already ridiculous numbers of swimming events
Breakdancing should be an event that China can dominate in. It's not much different from gymnastics, and had in the past been completely dominated by East Asians (Japan and Korea) before it fell out of popularity there. China is fairly competitive in kayak as well, and are medal contenders for a few kayak events.

China's teen skateboarder Cui Chenxi nearly got a bronze medal in womens street skateboarding. Japan won gold and silver. So skateboarding is not necessarily a western sport.

Both of them got silver medals.
I'm happy with the results. Two gold medals would've been better, but Xu and Tang should be proud of their silver medals. I think China has a decent chance at getting the gold medal in the men's 100 m freestyle (Pan Zhanle), the men's 200 m IM (Wang Shun), and the women's 200 m butterfly (Zhang Yufei). Fingers crossed!

The US votes to include sports they think they have a chance at winning medals... at least from the start and vote against sports that they don't think they'll win in. The Winter Olympics is full of sports that Westerners are good at. I imagine if you start seeing Chinese winning down hill skiing events, there will be accusations of cheating like in swimming.

This just in... Not only was Lady Gaga lip-syncing, the whole dance routine was prerecorded. It wasn't all live like how the Western media was pointing about for Beijing 2008. Their excuse was because it was raining and made dancing at the location dangerous. So they knew it was going to rain and recorded it fast enough just in case it did? Or they can just admit they were going to record it from the start regardless of the weather. What was reported that was prerecorded during the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008? It was when fireworks shot up into the sky in the shape of feet looking like footsteps leading to the Bird's Nest Stadium. Why was it prerecorded and apparently done with CG? I imagine they needed a helicopter to have a shot following them to the stadium which would've been dangerous for the helicopter. You did see from inside the stadium perspective a partial giant foot from fireworks show up above the stadium at the end of that scene. So apparently they did have the fireworks do that. It was just too dangerous for the helicopter to do it for TV.

There was an awards event for stuntmen in movies and TV. Of course only Western stunt men win them when Jackie Chan and his stunt team alone should be winning them all. Same kind of prejudice in the Olympics.

For the 2008 Beijing Olympics, there was also a big fuss in Western media about the girl singing ceremonially on the podium during the procession of the flag lip-syncing to a different girl singing behind the scenes. Western media accused China of fakery and coverup despite the two 7-year old girls (neither of whom were celebrities or professionals) both being credited in the official program and Western media only found out about the lip-syncing after one of the opening ceremony producers went on a Chinese television interview and talked about the lip-syncing as an example of unexpected difficulties (young girl picked early on for her stage presence/composure and been practicing for the ceremony turned out to be a poor singer but they didn't realize that until the final rehearsals).

After the endless denigration of so-called Chinese fakery and coverup for the ceremonial lip-syncing by a 7-year old Chinese girl, it came to light that in the 2000 Sydney Olympics opening ceremonies, the Sydney Symphony - the professional orchestra of the city famed for its opera house - was actually miming to recordings of the Melbourne Symphony, and members of both orchestras had signed confidentiality agreements in order to keep the deception secret.

I would be satisfied with just 3 golds since that was what China got last time in 2020. Any more than that is a bonus.

China is a strong contender in five of the remaining events: men's 100 m freestyle (Pan Zhanle), men's 200 m breaststroke (Qin Haiyang), men's 200 m IM (Wang Shun), women's 200 m butterfly (Zhang Yufei), and the 4x100 m mixed medley. 4-5 gold medals is not out of the question.

Qin Haiyang had one bad race, but I still have faith in him.
