I think the problem isn't just visiting the shrine, but honoring the dead people there. Kasumi Ishikawa and Tomokazu Harimoto prayed in front of the shrine. Maybe they didn't really care much and just treat it as a ritual but Chinese people have a reason to be pissed.
First of all, screw Tomokazu. Nobody in China likes him; they make videos making fun of him. Actually, he's known as a particularly annoying player in the world of table tennis. He can go rent a cubicle and live in the Yasukuni Shrine for all I care; I think he should.

As for Kasumi, I just wanna hear what she has to say. She clearly holds great value in her relationship with Ma Long and his opinion of her as well as the rest of China's table tennis team. It would be insane to burn those bridges. She has also went on interview to say she wouldn't mind marrying a foreigner who is a great table tennis player, which I took as a clear sign that she was open to marrying Chinese. So I would think that she would be careful not to do anything to offend Chinese people; I myself at my most careful, even with Google at my fingertips, could have been tricked/led into going to that shrine before this conversation.

I think the situation is a bit sad also but the problem between Chinese people and Japanese people clearly haven't been resolved. That said although Japanese girls look cute and innocent on the outside, that's not who they are deep inside. If Ma Long married her, he'd be in big trouble right now.

It will be resolved the second China overpowers the US and takes dominion of Asia. History is always easy to resolve; it's the current fire and fuel that burns.

Eh, ain't that everyone?
If Ma Long married her, he'd be in big trouble right now.
Shit, I'd think that if he'd married her, he would have taught her to know better or at least he could have poured out an explanation for her and saved it. Right now, she doesn't know what to do; if she issues a deep apology saying she was unaware of the situation, Japanese people would be furious with her. If she doesn't, she's done for in China and all the connections she has built with the Chinese team are broken. Those connections define her value after her retirement.

After this incident, not that I'm expecting to visit Japan, but if I ever, I'm staying away from all shrines or buildings that may resemble shrines in any way, shape, or form. There's just no telling what the hell is inside.

Decouple from China, they said. We can make it ourselves, they said.

This is gathering steam now. The Washington Post, a leading voice of the American establishment, is going full mask-off over this:

It should be noted that CAS did not determine that Jordan Chiles should be stripped of her medal, it merely determined that Team USA's appeal was invalid on procedural grounds and that her original score should therefore stand. The decision to reallocate the Bronze medal from Chiles to Bărbosu (rather than taking another path such as awarding shared Bronze medals) came from the IOC as per the

Such basic factual errors do not serve to advance WaPo's case. In any case, this is a rather astonishing stream of unhinged invective from what is ostensibly a respectable publication, and clearly demonstrates the attitude that Washington has to international bodies that it does not control.
It proved Americans are sore losers.

Chinese guests at Taiwanese-owned Evergreen Laurel hotel in Paris failed to persuade staff to let them hang the Chinese flag in the lobby.

Hahahaha! What the hotel did was illegal and we can sue them out of business.
In fact, I have an idea that by the time I am done with them, they will have no time to do anything else but sort out legal papers for the rest of their pathetic lives.
