India has appealed the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the women's 50kg Freestyle Wrestling final for being 100g overweight at weigh-in to CAS, seeking instatement of a Silver medal. The case is being heard before a sole arbitrator and the outcome was due to be announced today but has been postponed to August 13th.

Beyond fault of the weighing apparatus or failure of officials to adhere to procedure at the weigh-in, I find it difficult to envision the grounds for a successful appeal. Knowing nothing about wrestling, boxing or other events that use weight divisions, the boundaries may be unforgiving of even slight variations in weight, and the tight schedule between bouts may have complicated typical recovery practices, yet these conditions are known in advance and it is the athlete's choice to carry themselves so close to the limit that they are at risk of being over.

Apparently Vinesh Phogat and her team went to considerable lengths to bring her weight down over the course of the night. It seems a fairly grueling endeavour:

IIRC the USA gymnast Jordan Chiles just got stripped of her bronze and reawarded to Romania-legal motions have to be satisfied so I doubt India will get the silver as even a Jpanese medal contention wrestler had to miss the 2020 Tokyo games for being overweight.Coaches athletes support staff ALL KNOW this but India being India is such a amateurish,clown-show fuckup.

“Please do the needful and give me cheaperrrrr…”
Rather than putting their head down and working hard, the Indian Attitude is to whine, if not outright cheat as their doping frequency attests.

I actually think there’s more grounds to appeal Chinese silver and bronze medallist’s who were unfairly overtested even during the middle of their REM sleep. Problem is also culturally, Anglo and western institutions often unfairly place hurdles in front of Asian athletes and applicants eg harvard scandal, medical school discrimination etc

Still, the Romanian gymnast was robbed of her moment on the podium, her time in the sun. The American coaches ought to pay restitution to that poor Romanian girl.

Where does it come from?High caste endemic racism, deep seated inferiority, and outright jealousy/hatred at China for daring to be so successful-they never look at themselves, their culture etc-they just say it's China throwing money at athletes nothing more,For you jaihinds /indoturds lurking here is your problem:nepotism, casteism, cronyism, corruption to the marrow of their bones-all mixed with a foul lewdness that puts the Japanese to shame.

We can move on from Olympic now. What I want to see is the improvement in football, basketball, volleyball, etc. After all, football is invented in China.
We can't really "move on" as you say if USA had won everything across the board then yeah it's done.... but now the gauntlet has been thrown down by China(40/40gm parity) and the fallout of theses games will be evident and long felt and not in just the sporting fields-mark my words be aware and be careful.
