If one Chinese athlete had turned purple like that-the ensuing firestorm of doping ,drug abuse would be overwhelming. As I thought vasodilation exteme like some people turning beet red when drinking alcohol(booze flush/blush)As one poster here said about lactic acid buildup-couldn't agree as LA buildup causes soreness, fatigue etc and is flushed out quickly within a few minutes by respiration/circulatory cycle moreso if you are fit/strong-not hours.Consulted a pharmacist friend and he replied."what the hell are they taking?"

p.s. I did watch the highlights of the Mens Gold medal Basketball game.
Draw with cheaters is fine. We made them uncomfortable and angry, as they deserve to be.

China also splits their team into 3 different regions, if you add all of them together, the number still isn't more than US' delegation, and we beat them by a quite large margin.

No if China got 41 gold it would end there because China won. Thats how the Olympics rank it and that's the method that has been officially abided by. That is what actually matters.
I'm supposed to believe that? When China had 0 gold medals in the pool, lost the gymnastics men's team and individual all around, and you were saying we might end up third with some high twenties in gold, if someone offered you to tie the US at 40 gold, you'd say that's not good enough? LOL You had a louder voice than anyone here that we were gonna get our asses handed to us by the US this time. Then you clearly said you'd be happy just losing to the US by under 10 golds. Now you're telling me this is your last wish? LOL Nah, you're never happy with what you got. Once you have something, you're already moaning about not having something better. That's your trend.
Pretty sure most Olympic athletes use some form of PEDs. Use it during training/off season. Micro-dosing at night, etc….

This prob applies to all major athletic programs from U.S., China, UK, Australia. If your competitors are using it, you are at a disadvantage if you don’t. So your are forced to.
No. WADA testing data: Chinese positive percentage 0.2% in over 19K tests; US positive percentage 1.2% in under 7K tests. Chinese medical drug exemptions: <10; American medical drug exemptions: 390. The US is clearly the drug cheat trying to project its evils onto others. And what you said is a very American tactic of accusing others of doping but the second the data becomes clear that it's actually the US doping instead, the narrative becomes, "OK ok, let's not point fingers because everybody dopes! You dope, he dopes, she dopes, I [cough] dope... a little... very little... but YOU dope and they all dope so let's just forget about it cus we all do it!" No. Just the US. Purple Potato Asthma swim team, ADHD gymnastics team, asking WADA to not disclose American champions who fail drug tests because that would be a danger to their lives??!! It's all American dirty ass shit.

AAAAANNNNDDD We lost a women's gold medal boxing match to a man.
I am 100% certain US will lose atleast 1 gold due to doping scandal, maybe ever more. The final tally will put China on top.
I'm 100% sure they're almost all doped up but I'm not sure that there's the political power right now to catch and strip them. If the US were up by a few gold, maybe they can let it go, but at 40-40, the US will be biting like a rabid pitbull threatening to kidnap/extradite and jail IOC officials from their own European homes at the first hint that an American A sample is positive or even being considered for further testing. Nobody in Western Europe has the balls to stand up to that.

I guess it's ok because in the end, algeria is a friendly country and the Muslim world (extremely ironically) has been looking forward to getting this in a long time. By showing sportsmanship despite the unfair conditions, China lost the chance to brag that they beat the cheaters, but imho the Arabic soft power is worth way more

Taking the high road and being noble in spirit and demeanor is never wrong. The western especially American "in your face motherfucker",is so crass and no class it's disgusting to see.BTW in future the Chinese woman boxer can still receive the gold if IOC strips the he/she of it.

India has appealed the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the women's 50kg Freestyle Wrestling final for being 100g overweight at weigh-in to CAS, seeking instatement of a Silver medal. The case is being heard before a sole arbitrator and the outcome was due to be announced today but has been postponed to August 13th.

Beyond fault of the weighing apparatus or failure of officials to adhere to procedure at the weigh-in, I find it difficult to envision the grounds for a successful appeal. Knowing nothing about wrestling, boxing or other events that use weight divisions, the boundaries may be unforgiving of even slight variations in weight, and the tight schedule of the Olympic competition may have complicated typical recovery practices, yet these conditions are known in advance and it is the athlete's choice to carry themselves so close to the limit that they are at risk of being over.

Apparently Vinesh Phogat and her team went to considerable lengths to bring her weight down overnight. It seems to have been a fairly grueling endeavour:

Last Tuesday, Vinesh became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach an Olympic final after she won three straight bouts, including the opener against world no. 1 and then-defending champion Yui Susaki of Japan. While she was well within the permissible limit during the weigh-in before the preliminary rounds, her weight increased [by] almost three kilos by Tuesday night [....] Vinesh stayed awake all night before the gold-medal bout, jogging and skipping to lose weight. Her support staff even went to the extent of cutting her hair and drawing out blood. However, the 29-year-old was still found to be 100 grams over the allowed limit during the morning weigh-in.

It probably is better if some US athlete gold medalist gets stripped. Then that would really be in your face moment to them. Not easy of coz.

In combat sports, you are expected the make weight. Even a crappy mma regional promotion is pretty harsh on fighters who miss weight.

But somehow India thinks it is the victim at missing weight at the HIGHEST levels of the Olympics at the finals??!?!?

India is not new to wrestling here. They know how it is done. Hell they keep boasting they are like a superpower at it. So they should know better then.
