Something to notice about is Japan maybe setting to upstage China diving dominance-8for 8 now! with a stable of women/mens' divers led by 17 year old Tamai-gotta watch the rear view mirror and never underestimate duplicitous China hating Japanese like late Qing."At the moment of victory,tighten your helmet straps" Japanese proverb but possibly ascribed to Chinese-as so much of their culture. If any countries can erode China's dominance in her sporting sphere(TT,badminton,swimming/diving,other precision sports)it's the genetically/ethnically similar Koreans/Japanese with their ironically Chinese like attitude toward diligence/training/selection etc.Perhaps nothing perhaps something to note well and deal with.

China should improve on judo and fencing, as Japan depends on medals from those events.

I just want to commend Liu Yang for the unbelievable ambassador that she is. Chinese athletes are trained to never be sore losers no matter how much they've been wronged. Westerners smear the opponent and use politics to fight; Koreans cry and refuse to leave the stage, but you never hear a peep from Chinese athletes no matter what happens to them.

This picture of Liu Yang smiling and hugging Imane Khelif after she was robbed of the thing she wanted the most in her life by an XY male in a women's boxing match is making the rounds in Algeria and the Muslim world. They point to her smile and welcoming warmth in contrast to the West's rejection and anger as testament to China's moral superiority. Algeria has never won a gold medal before at the Olympics; they are so desperate for it that they they support Khelif despite knowing deep down by their Muslim teachings and roots that this is definitely wrong. China generously understood that need and Liu seized the oppertunity to bolster her nation in the hearts of Algerians. This is a true victory beyond sports. I'm so proud of Liu Yang's strength and the huge heart.

Yuan Wan from team Germany table tennis is such an eye candy. Prettier than many actress nowadays.
