They ain't reporting in the US about the article of Americans cheating protecting their athletes behind the scenes. When the report came out of the Chinese swimmers right before the Olympics, that was reported all over the place in the US media. You don't think that was the plan? The US wants to paint WADA like they did with the WHO. They're infiltrated and controlled by China. Sorry but the Chinese thinking being nice and measured in response don't cut it. Even though China responded in this case, it's only after in defense. Look at around the Shayna Jack cheating scandal, there was another Australian athlete that just went out of his way avoiding being tested at all. At that time he was still swimming in competitions. You think they would let the Chinese get away with that?

They wanted the Chinese athletes' experience to be horrible. What stories are they not telling that happened? There were stories it was so noisy at the Olympic Village that some athletes couldn't sleep. You don't think that was happening around where the Chinese athletes were sleeping intentionally? How about that China pushes equal amount testing for all athletes? How about all athletes have to stay in the Olympic Village? Look at what happened in women's gymnastics. The US protested and got the judges to reevaluate their scores afterwards. It wasn't just recalculating the scores already judged because there was maybe an error there. Maybe they should've done that with all athletes in contention just to make it look fair. But they didn't. It was only for the US. They did a Trump demanding they find points so their athlete could win.

I remember watching pairs figure skating and there was a brother and sister Chinese team. The commentators who were former figure skaters themselves were talking about how they didn't look romantic towards one another... And there was an American brother and sister team there too but you never heard such a thing. Was it because they looked at each other lustfully wanting to have sex with one another...? It's figure skating not fucking porn. That shouldn't play a factor in judging but you know it does because also race unofficially plays a factor which means they'll use anything to spin as an excuse by race because you know Asians aren't seen as romantic in general. Gymnastics and figure skating use to be the highest rated spectator sports on TV. Now they're not being relegated to cable channels. Is it because whites are no longer dominating these sports? Look at the pressure the US is placing to have the Olympics in only in time zones closer to the US because of ratings. The US wants to add the dollar factor for the Olympics.

Idiots fail to realize that by making China seem like they can control WHO and WADA they are making China look even more powerful.

admit it, you watch the ladies pole vault because they are hot. (me too :)) some of these track events definitely tunes the bodies to be very aesthetically pleasing. Once they stop fooling around and get into it, you are like, WOW!

Oh that's part of it for sure, but there's more to it than that. We can appreciate the female form while also recognising the skill and dedication required to reach the peak of competition and the mental stress of performing under those conditions. It's not an either/or thing.

Audiences want to connect with "characters" and their stories, and in the period of an Olympic event there are only brief opportunities to make an impression, so you latch on to minor things like how the athletes carry themselves between attempts. Kyle Chalmers was not the most successful of Australia's male swimmers but he has the most "stage presence".

Men's basketball gold for US

So currently only these events left

High chance
~1 in women's basketball
Possible:
~1 in women's volleyball
~1 in women's wrestling 76kg
~1 in women's omnium

China will top medal tally (40 vs 39) if US only wins women's basketball and nothing else
China will match golds (40 vs 40) if US wins women's basketball + 1 more gold
So basically US will have to choke all 3 possible events. I just don't see it happening sadly but maybe a miracle can occur.

You're very negative and pessimistic. I rememer you moaning that China might end up third or finish with high twenties in the gold medals, all that crap. Here we are with a historical high on foreign territory, and 40 almost guaranteed tomorrow.

Also, if America wins nothing else except women's basketball, it's not really choking. Choking is if they're the heavy favorite but screw up, letting an inferior opponent win.

In volleyball, I don't know if Italy can beat the US. China beat the US 3-2; Turkey beat China 3-2; Italy mauled Turkey 3-0. So... I don't know what will happen.

In wrestling, Japan is dominant and Kagami is the world champion. If you look at thier matches, Kagami won the semis 4-2 and the quarters 3-0 but the American eeked through those matches with scores 4-3 and 8-6. In this case, the Japanese will have to choke for the US to win.

I don't know about Omnium but I found this article:

"Belgium's Lotte Kopecky is the 11-8 favourite as she makes her third attempt to win gold at the Games.

Kopecky was sixth in the time trial and a beaten favourite when winning bronze in the women's road race, but she has a decent pedigree in this event, winning the silver medal in the 2021 world championships and the bronze in 2023.

Even so, she looks a short price in a tough field with the strongest opposition likely to come from defending champion Jennifer Valente of the United States.

The Californian cyclist won the omnium world championship in 2022 and 2023 and already has a gold in the bag in Paris from the team pursuit.

At 9-4, the American looks the best value bet, although New Zealand's Ally Wollaston is also a major contender. "

Seems like a fight. Don't have to choke to lose.

Word is Jordan Chiles was stripped of her bronze medal in gymnastics...
I believe that even the great gymnast Nadia Comaneci had commented on the blatantly unfair awarding to the USinstead of the Romanian who earned it-a Russian gymnastics coach also had said the gymnastics scores were inflated in USA favour as he watched -don't get me started on USA's Biles,Lee et al use/abuse of TUE "medicines" for their "asthma,ADD.ADHD.POT ad nauseaum.
