This is an old video I found on EUV light source experiments in China.

It shows that at least China has some experience with building EUV light sources. Maybe it's not good enough for a lithography, but at least they are not starting from complete scratch.

Although, I think the design of this light source is very different from ASML EUV which uses a tin dropper. Aka DPP.

But according to this paper, the Free electron laser solution in the video could be a contender for EUV lithography.

@WTAN whats your thoughts on Non-DPP light sources?

No the sanction is not as broad. It says it will sanction US official that visit Taiwan, and US companies that have ties with these officials.
1. The CCP is not so subtly telling or warning Chinese companies that they should be buying their chips from domestic sources soon, to avoid their chip supplies disrupted by Chinese sanctions.

2. It is guilt by association.

TSMC is building a fab in Arizona. If a clerk from the motor vehicles department of Arizona visits Taiwan, then it is up to the CCP to sanction TSMC if they decide to apply their law strictly.

China is not gonna to wait for US to setup intermediate missile at Taiwan. It's gonna take back Taiwan soon, very soon.

By destroying Taiwan high-tech ecosystems China will not lose at this operation.

Even if Taiwan foiled PLA landing and invasion, but losing its high-tech ecosystems will be devastating to US.

Almost like post nuclear exchanges everybody go backward in technologies

This will create leveling field for China to catch up. Win-win situation even if Western countries economically sanctioning China afterward

I think china is just waiting to see what the two months ahead brings. Starting a war now would boost either trump or Biden. Hence if the usa really does go crazy after an election, it would stand to mention that they could target there chip making grids when whole the USA/whole world is focused on the USA to not only maximize damage but minimize attention due to the USA being far bigger news then Taiwan. Although, Isuspect that cutting of rare earths processing and getting rid of the treasuries then will maximize the damage to the USA during the election then since the USA the cannot process the rare earths into chips which then cannot be sent to Taiwan for fab processing. Hence killing two birds with one stone, so to speak. Acting now would Help unite the USA against China, acting later would devastate the USA far more since the stock market/economy will crash at that time meaning that everybody would understand not sending them rare earths or dumping treasuries then cause not only the USA can’t make use of the Rare earths in a safe environment (now is going to be safer then later anyway) but then the dollar would be even more devalued at that time and hence more countries would sell. Everything is about timing, escalating now gives the USA more chances to get at China, doing it later when the USA most likely collapses due to all there issues sky rocketing may rally the world against the USA as a nation in a civil unrest state and as a bankrupt nation meaning they can never pay back there interest on there loans especially with there economy taken such a big contraction which will take years or even decades just to go back to the state it was before covid (hence why would anyone bother keeping USA dollars then). China has a long term plan, the USA doesn’t, hence way they are slowing reducing Treasury holdings to keep up the pressure but also to test the USA money system to see how much longer the USA dollar can hold. If it cannot hold anymore, then dumping treasuries would be good
