If the US doesn't need China, then why doesn't he decouple right now! Wouldn't that send the clearest message of how the US doesn't need anyone?

Look at the US's coronavirus response... Which country is more likely be able to recover from a macro emergency? Pretty hard to keep up the message that your system is superior when they keep failing challenges.

Huawei is just a national champion, just like Cisco or Intel.in the US.

btw, Huawei was wise enough not to switch smartphone to HarmonyOS last year, rather the first step is to replace GMS with HMS, which has been successful.

As you know this week HarmonyOS will be introduced in all other products except smartphones, so it looks like in 2021 Huawei will then declare independence and switch all its smartphones to Harmony. We shall see if that's the case

Although, I think the design of this light source is very different from ASML EUV which uses a tin dropper. Aka DPP.

But according to this paper, the Free electron laser solution in the video could be a contender for EUV lithography.

Yes.....the Free Electron Laser as a EUV Light Source is a potential candidate for use in next generation EUV Lithography Machines. The FEL has High Power potential (500-1000W) and is also economical to operate. Chinese Scientists should look into this.

The current DPP EUV Light source developed by Harbin Institute produces 150W. This should be sufficient for mass production of Chips.
China is developing LPP and DPP Light Sources.

This article confirms the rumours that as part of the 02 Lithography Machine Special Project, Huawei has developed a EDA Tool for designing 7nm Chips.
