We know that the next Silicon Valley is going to be Shenzhen. Many talents will gravitate toward the New Bay Area (Shenzhen, Macau, HK, Donguan, Zhuhai etc).
I am curious though on how the USA is ever going to recover without anyone willing to invest there talents into the USA especially when most of there students don’t give a crap about education along with there racism becoming a big factor for many people not to bother going to the USA.

There are different levels of fatigue in the US, from family breakdowns, drugs problems, even physical infrastructure (like the pics of subways in NYC), education, financial inequalities etc.. all affecting the Mental Health of the people, and you can see the Big patient is Trump himself lol,, so how can a "sick" person lead or cure a big nation when he himself is quite sick.

From another perspective, if SMIC is listed on the entity list, it may accelerate the process of China's adoption of independent technologies, and domestic semiconductor equipment and material manufacturers are expected to get more opportunities to enter the SMIC production line validation.

How much does Huawei depend on sub-14 NM chips for its 5G base station equipment? Can they still produce 5G equipment even without sub-14 NM 5g chips?

The 5g chips are 7nm and currently paused. They're probably:
Plan A. Working on a 14nm version with SMIC, but SMIC is going to get sanctioned so who knows.
Plan B. Waiting for Biden to save them.
Plan C. Take long break and develop their own supply chain.
Plan D. Give up.

But it is still possible for 14 nm chips to replace 7nm chips in their 5g equipment, no? @localizer
