I wonder how big the overlap is between the core components of these humanoids and those of industrial robots.

Shanghai completed a full load test of the 35KV superconductive power line. The max current reached 2160.12 amperes during the test of over 10 hours.

This power line, over a kilometer in length, was connected to the power grid in Dec 2021. It has served 49000 users in the core part of Shanghai. Using superconductive power lines can save a lot of space taken by transformers. Superconductive cables also need 70% less underground space than the regular cables.

The cable is probably made of the YBCO superconductive materials thus cooled by liquid nitrogen.

千伏公里级超导输电示范工程实现首次满负荷运行​

8月18日12时30分,伴随着运行电流参数达到2160.12安培,世界首条35千伏公里级超导输电示范工程首次实现满负荷运行,此举也进一步刷新了中国商用超导输电工程最大实际运行容量的纪录。

该工程于2021年12月投运,是目前世界上输送容量最大、距离最长、接头数量最多的全商业化运行的超导输电工程,也是唯一采用全排管敷设的公里级超导输电工程,迄今已连续安全稳定运行超600天。其投运开创了公里级超导电缆在大型城市核心区域运行的先例,加速了超导全产业链国产化,大幅提升了中国在超导输电领域的国际影响力。投运以来,已累计为供电区域内徐家汇商圈、上海体育馆等4.9万户用户供电近3亿度。

2022年7月,国网上海电力对超导输电工程开展连续9小时1000安培以上的大负荷试验,初步验证了超导电缆带大负荷运行的能力。为了进一步验证超导输电工程在2200安培的设计载流量和极限承载能力,在各项条件具备且确保用户可靠供电的情况下,国网上海电力自8月17日凌晨3时起,通过电网运行方式调整,实现1090安培用电负荷向超导输电工程的集中。

截至8月18日17时22分,超导输电工程保持负荷高位运行超10小时,最高电流2160.12安培,这期间电压、频率、冷却系统功率等重要参数均保持在正常范围内,各系统运转良好,工程整体可靠性得到全面的验证。

在满负荷运行的情况下,一根超导电缆等同于相同电压等级4至6根普通电缆的运行总量,可节约地下空间70%,提升能源供应效率400%。同时,一根35千伏超导电缆约等于一回220千伏线路和一台同电压等级主变压器的能源供应能力,可大幅减少高电压等级变电站建设所需空间,为挖掘超大城市核心区域能源供给潜力提供了一种具有商业价值的可行方案。

下阶段,国网上海电力还将面向实际需求发掘更多超导应用场景,在中心城区开展超导输电技术推广应用,发掘更多典型应用场景,推动相关创新及核心技术不断提升。

, led by Prof. Zhao Bangchuan, developed a high-performance aqueous zinc-ion battery with ultralong cycle lifespan in a weak magnetic field.

The findings were recently published in the journal Materials Horizons.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are a low-cost and safe alternative to lithium-ion batteries with high theoretical capacity. However, the limited electrochemical performance of cathode material and zinc dendrite growth on the anode reduces the energy density and cycle life of an aqueous zinc-ion battery. To develop better aqueous zinc-ion batteries, it’s important to design high-energy-density cathodes and suppress zinc dendrite growth.
In this research, the team overcame the limitations of existing cathode materials and the issue of zinc dendrite growth. They used a one-step hydrothermal method with in-situ electrochemical defect engineering to create a VS2 material. This material had rich defects that were effective in reducing the electrostatic interaction between zinc ions and VS2. It allowed for 3D transport of Zn2+ along both the ab plane and c-axis, resulting in excellent rate capability.

While cycling stability remained an issue due to the dendrite growth, the team found that introducing an external magnetic field suppressed the growth and significantly enhanced the battery’s lifespan. Operating under a weak magnetic field, the high-performance Zn-VS2 battery demonstrated an ultralong cycle lifespan and delivered a high energy density and power density.

The work could have significant implications for the future of energy storage technology, according to the team.

China leads in research on next-generation solar cells​

China is emerging as a research powerhouse for perovskite solar cells, an alternative to the current mainstream technology that could make renewable energy more widespread.

China has produced over 5,500 international academic papers on perovskite cells since 2019, according to a study by Tokyo-based data analysis provider Fronteo.

The country's tally accounts for about 30% of the total for the top 10 countries, surpassing the roughly 3,400 for the U.S. in second place and third-ranked South Korea's roughly 1,460. Japan had about 820 papers.

Second video, CNOOC CONTROL SYSTEM made by Hangzhou Hollysys, in the old days CNOOC only used branded US control systems like Emerson, Trump sanctioned them and wallah, Hollysys systems are now used offshore. Give and take another 5 years, Chinese companies will dominate the whole domestic market and then they will go overseas and fxk the West badly.
