Fudan MOSS responded that the server was crushed: the model is very immature

News on February 21, yesterday, the Fudan team released MOSS, the first ChatGPT-like model in China, which attracted the attention of netizens. Due to the excessive pressure of instantaneous access, the MOSS server was crushed that night.

Today, the official website of MOSS issued an announcement in response, saying that MOSS is still a very immature model, and there is still a long way to go before ChatGPT. One of our academic research laboratories cannot make a model similar to ChatGPT's capabilities. MOSS just wants to explore and verify the technical route of ChatGPT on a scale of tens of billions of parameters, and realize various dialogue capabilities.

The Fudan team stated, “Our original idea was to conduct internal testing of MOSS so that we could further optimize it. We did not expect to attract such a large amount of attention. Our computing resources are not enough to support such a large amount of visits. As an academic team, we There is also no relevant engineering experience, which has caused a very bad experience and first impression for everyone, and I would like to express my sincere condolences to everyone.”

The statement revealed that after MOSS completes the preliminary verification, the Fudan team will open source the experience, code, and model parameters of MOSS.

In addition, the announcement also explained that the name of MOSS originated from "The Wandering Earth", "When we completed the training of the first generation model, it was just when the Wandering Earth 2 was being released. The MOSS in the film left a deep impression on everyone in the team, so We use such a name to refer to our model to express our relentless pursuit of the most cutting-edge AI models."

The following is the MOSS announcement:

Always interesting to see what China can come up with in AI
but looks like Huawei is using AI for developing pig vaccine. This seems like a logical progression after using it for drug discovery, but not one I was anticipating.
Theseem to have a tight focus on pork production right now. If the cost of drugs are slashed along with these new 1m pig farms that are popping up all over the country then the price of pork can stabilize and even be reduced.

Other things they are doing such as robots doing artificial insemination and even cloning, capturing and using the animals waste and protecting them from airborne diseases is making hog farming low cost and low labor.

This is important for inflation, as pork prices makes up a huge part of that calculation.

Would it be considered SeeSeePee sponsored organ harvesting if anyone actually sold his/her kidney to buy this as many suggested in the comments?

"Optimus Prime is spying for the SeeSeePee! Ban Optimus Prime! Ban the Autobots! We should ally with the Decepticons!"

Wait, Decepticons? Now we know how that ends...

Robosen is based in Shenzhen.
