hey Mao, I really do hope you can bring up the quality of post a little bit. If you wish to do a translation of a Chinese article, please do not do google translation or babelfish translation, since they are next to useless. If you want to translate, please just post the Chinese content and do a translated summary or something like that. This is a courtesy for those non-Chinese speaking posters on this forum.
Thanks.

I don't always do this, I just see some articles that I really like to share to the frends. so many frends they know chinese ,if just show the websit they can't read. you may count I just did few times of this.this time is only one section article above post.
and also translate this article I have to spend a lot times to do this, and I have to need my frend help me to fix the error from babel fish or google translation.
don't worry, I am not quality to do this job, even you don't say, I would't do this, just coppy the chinese to post is so easy, just few minutes.today I just made post at chinese satelite thread coppy one section article only chinese.
now some one did the same way at FC-1/JF17 thread, you should warn him now.

As a English forum, you should try to translate so everyone can understand. The other guy only used google translation, because he has no knowledge of Chinese. You on the other hand, should at least do a little summary of the article in English or translate the important part. And yes, I translate or give summary of most articles I post. The problem with google or babelfish is that their translation just don't make sense. So please, I would appreciate it if you can put a little extra effort and just make things easier to understand for the non-Chinese speakers.

That's all you need to do, translate the relevant part. Tell people what the article is saying. Is that so hard? I think I've said enough on this issue, I will stop here. Please get back to discussing J-10.

J-10 to Participate in Military Exercise with Russia

A recent article out of Moscow reports that the J-10 is expected to participate in this year's joint Chinese-Russian military exercise:

According to the article, the exercise would take place at the Volga-Urals Military District near the Russian town of Chebarkul. The final details of the exercise are expected to be worked out in early March, with the military maneuvers to take place in late July.

China would be one of six member-nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to take part in what is being dubbed "Peaceful Mission 2007". Both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Hu Jintao are expected to attend the final day of the war games.

If this news report proves to be accurate, it would mark the first time that the J-10 has been deployed outside of China.

Would be interesting if they do. If it did, its not just a J-10 first, its a PLAAF all time first, because I have never seen or heard from them doing an exercises overseas no matter what jet they used.

I would't doubt that China will send J10 join the exercises.in 2005 China-russia military exerise took place in both China and russia, so many kind of forces joined.
J10 is diclassify, join the exercises to review it's fight may helpfull.

well, basically, read online that on a program on CCTV7?, there was an interview and the person mentionned that the procurement cost of a J-10 is less than 200 million RMB. Another point is that the profit for local industry in this case is 5%.

200 millions RMB which about 20 millions USD? Are you sure? FC-1/JF-17 is said to cost about 15 to 20 million USD, so, J-10 is no much expensive than FC-1. Maybe it's the main reason that PLA refuses FC-1.

Hard to say what is the profit margin of the FC-1 at 15 to 20 million. But if 20 million is the export price, the margin should much higher than 5%.

Nonetheless this does seem to squeeze the FC-1 out. Just remember the quoted price of the RD-93 isn't that much cheaper than the AL-31FN (2.8 million vs. 3 million). The whole future success of this program now rests on the domestic engine and whatever cost savings it can deliver, plus performance boost.
