When people PS pictures, there got to be a motivation behind. From J10's long PS history, we can clearly see that most if not all PSed works were from the early to mid days when real pics were really rare. I can see mainly 2 reasons behind those PSed pics:
1. some people would get short and instant fame on the internet since most people didn't know what a real one looked like. This was a major reason.
2. some people who did see or know J10 had to use other aircrafts' pictures to "leak" what they knew to avoid getting into any trouble.
Now, these 2 reasons don't apply to J10 any more. People just need to sit and wait for official high quality pics.
Having said that, those professional photographers do have ways to improve their works to make them look better. It's a common thing for news medias to do that. But that's for a completely different reason.
If you want to study carefully about PSed pictures, concentrate on all those Jxx works, that's what can generate the same interest as the old J10 PS works did. It's a waste of time making PSed J10s now, cause you won't get anything back.
There are other reasons too why they do it - like making the cover photos more interesting and the issue of public display of serial nos.
