That's a communications antenna. All J-10s have this, and the same system is used and present on the FC-1 prototypes. You can check for any number of J-10 pictures that are close and clear enough to see the canopy and you will see this antenna.

Bueller said:Those are life vests. There's no such thing as an upper body G-suit. The whole idea is to apply pressure to the lower body (legs, lower ab) to "squeez" the blood back into upper body. You can't really combat negative-Gs.
I wouldn't call them bulky. Actually, they look more like just regular work gloves. Flight gloves in the States tend to be much more robust (and bulky) looking than those.
