Uh, I bet US has a ton of informants in China. Of course most Chinese people, even the corrupt ones don't wish the Chinese to lose any future wars to the US or Taiwan. But people are corrupt and driven by money nowdays in China, you'd be surprised by how many top officials are getting paychecks from foreign governments.

Even back in the old days, there were high profile defectors. Ever heard about the son of Nanjiang MR caughting defecting to Taiwan? When they asked him what punishment his son should receive, he simply said, "bullet to the head."

I'm sure many people want to believe that. Yet as I pointed out previously the complaining that China should be more transparent. No need to complain if the US had all these informants giving "reliable" information. Haven't you heard that there's a shortage on Arabic and Chinese speaking talent in the intelligence services? You know why that is? It's because of the paranoia over double-agents. They only hire people they can trust which usually means not recruiting anyone of that ethnicity. The Cox Report even stated that every Chinese in the US is or can be a potential spy for China. And then there was all that talk in Congress about the intelligence services not having the budget for field agents. So they have to spend money on paying "informants" to which many are unreliable. Look at Iraq and WMDs.

But if the JXX is just a modified Flanker, then why would Shenyang have run all those other models in the wind tunnel? They can't have been doing it for their own amusement.

Well, before the final revealing of Jxx(es), there will be more and more rumors and PSed works. It's fun to read and joke about them cause it's a long wait.

BTW, if no dramatic changes happen, as far as I know, CAC has almost been kicked out by SAC already.

Ha, actually I did miss out an interesting point in that ariticle:

J11B's carrier version is still in development, some of the unsolved technical difficulties are: Toilet, Mini Kitchen, Folding Bed and LCD entertainment equipments.

I never know J11B is such an ambitious project. I bet it is targetting China's future luxury air travel market too.

You know, degatorial comments like that would be much more sharper if one bothers to atleast check some basics;)

Anyway, there is allready an existing thread about J-XX, so any other non-j-10 related post will be deleted in the future untill the thread is firmly back on topic.

Among the 46 aircraft going to Russia for the exercises, will be 8 J-10s. Since the aircraft are primarily from the Nanjing and Guangzhou MRs, I am assuming the J-10s might be from the 2nd or 3rd Division.

"Big Numbers" of J-10 Fighters for Pakistan??

An interesting interpretation of the China-Pakistan relationship:

The author claims that:
"The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) plans to buy new Chinese-made J-10 fighters in big numbers."

. . . but then provides no substantiation for his claim. I am unaware of any talk on Pakistan's part to buy anything beyond the 36 copies of the J-10 that were originally authorized by Pakistan's Cabinet. That may change over time . . . but that "maybe" hardly qualifies as "big numbers".

Has anyone else heard anything in excess of the 36 fighters originally approved by Pakistan's Cabinet?

Re: "Big Numbers" of J-10 Fighters for Pakistan??

According to the PAF Commander, 36-40 J-10s are needed to maintain the fleet required for Pakistan's "minimum deterrence" policy. I expect additional J-10s to be bought later on as the F-16A/Bs approach their end...which I imagine will start in the 2020s.

J-10 Vs F-16, who will win?
lets see this video click:

First we have to put two pilots of the exactly the same skills (Thats kinnda hard) second we have to put those planes in a equal footing situation, then we can made a fair opinnnion. If we take this points in consideration Im quiet sure than the J-10 will win by far. Why the F-16 its a good plane but, as far as I know they have simmilar top speed (I read somewhere than the J-10 hit mach 2.2 while the F-16 hit mach 2, chek this same website to get the J-10 specifications and get to

to get the f-16 specs) the The F-16 is very likeley to the U.S. Navy's FA-18s so tacking their aerodinamics in the fact of manewverability they will be very similar, the J-10 already prove to be far more manewverable than the FA-18 cause the desing of aerodinamics and the fly-by-wire than the FA-18 lacks. I thing the most important factor to make the J-10 the victor of the a battle over the f-16 is the manewverability... I put my money on the Chengdu J-10!!
