There's a huge leak. Somebody from China Aviation information center happened to post a report about SAC on the web, with his full name addressed. I believe the report is real. Now it vertually disappeared from Chinese websites, but I have a copy. It's quite long, you guys wanna see it?

But may be I should think if it's right for me to post it out first.

I think the standart R-77 has a quoted range of 75-90km. Where that probably already is the outer envelope. The sometimes mentioned R-77M1 is a ramjet powered version in development wich is to have a range of 150-200km. But I think fielding is still years into the future.

I can see a need for such very long range missiles as AWACS killers. Unless you have some very sophisticated stealth planes wich can risk to get it close to these platforms, I think such a long range AAM makes sense.

Sure, why not? I'd like to look. Most people won't believe it anyway if it's positive news. Just delete the guy's personal infomation.

But imagine...would you post illegal material relating to national security if the infomation you were holding regards to the United States?
About you mentioning a leak, isnt this website all based off the amount of leaks there are on the Chinese military? I find that quite amusing that since we have all this infomation about the chinese military, there is one giant leak :)

==Well, you can get a MiG-31, strap a few rocket boosters on to it, propel it up, flying above the operational ceiling of F-22 and AIM-120, fly over the enemy fighters to attack AWAC, EW and regueling aircrafts.

Just post it szbd. Don't worry, I bet the author wanted the instant fame anyway.:)

Obviously, the author is a very bored human resource department employee who spends too much time on surfing the internet forums.

Anyway, if you really want to translate this long article, I suggest you search those chinese forums(XH, CD and XF) first. There was a much shorter version of the leak one or two years ago. It even had drawings of the Jxx (XueE?) design.

What I'm worrying is the secrecy of China. It mensioned SAC is developing a carrier fighter J15, and joint developing an anti-stealthy UAV with russians. Also continue the work on J8II, J11B, and upgrading Su30 and JZ8.

I do think the article is real, and quite long.
