Anytime you have the opportunity to make big money, why ignore it? It helps finance your future projects, and selling planes to Pakistan gets your more margin per plane than PLA, who dictates your profit margin. Also gets to enhance your reputation worldwide, so you get more profitable export business. In any case, it's not like its soon. Its supposed to be around the end of 2009.

On the new article, some more thoughts. If China buys another 100 engines, then appears committed to fulfill a 300 engine preorder, kind of an order by intent, set years ago at the start of the J-10 program. Also its about time for them to make another order, since I would expect the last batch to be exhausted soon, and they're going to need spares and so on on the existing fleet.

On the other hand, the article is teeming with journalistic mistakes, I like to wait for another article to confirm what it just said. FI has done its share of boboos on Chinese affairs to say the least.

The People's Bank of China said on Monday it would issue a set of commemorative coins for the country's new-generation fighter aircraft, the Jian-10 (Fighter-10), on May 29.

The issuance comprises 10,000 gold coins, with a face value of 150 yuan (19.5 U.S. dollars) each, and 20,000 silver coins, with a face value of 10 yuan each.

The coins are produced by Shenzhen Guobao Mint and will be distributed by China Gold Coin Inc.

China unveiled the Jian-10 in January this year. Its basic design and onboard equipment are believed to be comparable to those of mainstream fighter aircraft in the West.

Nice to see these coins.

Even if they're legal tender, people will keep them for display, taking the money out of circulation. So it's profit for government.

xinhua needs to take writing lessons from Pakistan: J10 is China's most advanced indigenous fighter. It is capable of carrying out air superiority and ground attack missions against the latest western equipment.

2. Ask the technology and lines of the J-10 equivalent well, or butcher in the comparison F-22 Raptor (F/A-22 Raptor) improves, F-35 JSF (X-35 JSF) of the USA, EF-2000 Eurofighter of the Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and Spain or the new, stronger versions of the MIG-29 and Su-27 of the Russia !

I've read 'talks' that China has had 'talks' with NK, Thailand, Venezuele to sell J-10s. But like I said, it's all just 'talks'. :)
