There has been many cases where Chinese companies in India had to pay fines etc., BYD seems to be trying for the 2nd time now, they somehow feel EV's in India have high potential.
I think they are getting this wrong - unless charging infrastructure improves massively, EV's won't sell a lot in India. Not to mention the insane amount of GST in India.

India is well known for levying heavy fines on foreign companies. They are notorious for that. Its not just targeting Chinese firms.

I'm m not mentioning the heavy 2.4billion fine on Vodafone scandal. Etc etc

So it's a common thing in India. Foreign firms just have to be extra careful, when operating in the country. Foreign firms will still keep finding ways to invest in India just due to its vast market and potential giving its the largest population on earth and still growing.
To be honest, China by contrast has been quite lenient with foreign companies. If not for US laws and sanctions foreign investment in China will still be along the highest globally in China.

It's called Grand Theft Auto. All Chinese companies should be forbidden to set up high tech operations there.
If India feels that it is a superpower, surely there is no problem if it has to industrialize on its own.

Nat sec considerations and all that. Deal should be blocked by Chinese Gov
