New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

Europe is rather schizophrenic about China's EVs. On one hand, some of the European regimes are planning to impose higher tariff, on the other hand, some European automakers want more cooperation with China.
Don't think it's about being schizophrenic. But more about building locally and emplying locals instead of importing whole cars with zero value added locally. No sane country will.allow that not even China. So the best way is to open factories in those countries and build locally and EU countries have been opened for that long ago. So it's up to Chinese EV companies to decide of they want to or not.

Okay, so the lowest would be 27.4% for BYD
30% for Geely, 31% for tested but not sampled (who?) and a whopping 48.1% for SAIC and everyone else

A side effect I can foresee would be uncompetitive SOEs like SAIC getting even less profitable since they can't export to EU to pad up their revenue anymore. Consolidation might be finally coming

anyone that wanted to enter Europe market likely cooperated. So, Tesla, NIO and XPeng. SAIC on the other hand and their VW & MG sales in Europe is hurt big time here

Jaguar Land Rover will use Chery's E0X and M3X platforms for its plug-in hybrid EVs and battery EVs. Chery co-developed the M3X platform with a German company, and co-developed the E0X with Huawei. The pictures below demonstrate Chery Exeed Exlantix ES, Chery Exeed's flagship SUV that uses the E0X platform.

These tariff figures arent the issue for China. The issue is that in a few years time, as chinese cars take an even greater percentage of the EU market, additional tariffs will be added. And that process will then be repeated ad nauseum.

Chinese car manufacturers will build factories in Europe, like what the European and Japanese brands have been doing in other countries.

May export #s from Europe. Chery just dominates it. They get so much of their sales internationally

BYD seagull launched in Ecuador

EU EV sales as pertaining to BYD in May

These are current sales numbers. How much futures sales will be affected? For BYD their sales is small in Europe right now, but the effect on their future sales is big.

BYD sales probably won't really take off there until its factory starts production.
