According to media reports, Xpeng Motors plans to recruit 4,000 new employees and invest in artificial intelligence technology.
Xpeng Motors CEO He Xiaopeng said in a letter to employees on Sunday that the company will invest a total of 3.5 billion yuan (about 500 million U.S. dollars) in the research and development of artificial intelligence technology focusing on "intelligent driving." Xpeng Motors currently has a driver assistance system called Xpilot that allows its cars to perform certain functions semi-autonomously.
