Seems like the European OEMs have collectively thrown in the towel and just admitted that they need China more than vice versa. In a way, this is a good sign because it shows they are in touch with reality. I'm less sanguine about legacy US OEMs like GM or Ford. Geopolitics will prevent them from teaming up with Chinese companies. I hope I am wrong, but so far that has been the case.

Ford has just decided to postpone $12 billion of planned investment in its EV business..
Curious how this will affect the Ford battery factory using CATL tech

Ford will postpone about $12 billion in EV investment as buyers become more cautious

  • Ford said customers in North America are unwilling to pay a premium for an EV.
  • The company, in turn, is postponing about $12 billion in EV manufacturing investment.
  • Ford’s Model e EV unit lost about $3.1 billion through three quarters this year.
These are huge losses. The more they produce the more on the red they go lmao

Ok... this is surprising, YangWang U8 coming to Australia in RHD. The local distributor pushed for this, so it's safe to assume it won't be directly distributed like it is in China. I don't think it will sell well there since the local distributor is a bit problematic... and the price too.

Seems the name will not be translated.

“I don’t think it will sell well…”: The large wealthy Australian Chinese community alone will support good sales, as long as Yangwang lives up its hypes.

Comes with ROBO DRIVE MAX that can apparently do City NOA w/o Lidar. The first mass produced one to do so. Based on video I watched, looks like 80% of time, it will drive for you

Personally, I think the very versatile 2024 SuperVan is one of the best looking commercial electric vans out there. It's from Farizon, a commercial electric vehicle division of Geely. It will be launched in Ireland soon.

Just how much local software talent are there in Germany?
Not enough to support the auto industry transition to EVs, that's for sure
