New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

Italian cars aren't doing great in China so of course it would advocate for a tariff just like France. German on the other hand would be the one that suffers the most so it is reluctant to impose tariff at least for now. I remember how EU imposes tariff on Chinese made TVs decades ago. It is the same playbook just different product this time. When EU can't compete fairly, then they would throw away fair trade and play dirty.

protectionism is normal and logical. Unless you think countries around the world should welcome getting de-industrialized

BYD seal getting launched in Colombia, there will be more stores opened by end of the year

BYD mega store opening in Sydney. Maybe Seal will get launched soon. Still waiting for Dolphin deliveries to really start

FAW to partner up with Mobileye. Look at that timeline, not great

I feel like Dolphin may not do as well because it really isn’t that much cheaper than an atto 3 in Australia but has inferior performance.

There was a video I saw on YouTube from one of those Elon Musk cultists I've heard about that praise and follow anything Elon Musk where they showed a video out of China of some guy who broke down a Tesla and BYD car claiming BYDs are poorly made compared to a Tesla. The propaganda gets confusing because I've always heard about people complaining how Teslas have bad build quality. It's like how people rave over Italian sportscars yet they notoriously breakdown a lot.

The BYD pickup(both EV & hybrid) that is coming to Australia is confirmed to be around $AUD50,000-$70,000 according to the boss of the distributor. Said it will appeal to hard-core offroad enthusiasts. Test vehicles to arrive in AU this year.

Surprised it hasn't been unveiled yet after quite a while of testing.
