There's already rumblings about how BEV's aren't as "green" as the industry claims to be from the US, how likely is it that the US will try to force a pivot to some alternative i.e. hydrogen to void China's lead in BEVs? Leaders in hydrogen powered vehicles are Japan who the US controls.
Then the cycle continue, it repeat itself....lol

China is also investing in hydrogen powered vehicles. Japan is not leading at all. The US will still lag whether in BEV or hydrogen cars.

Do you have any data or evidence to back up your rather bold claim? I mean it's true Japan has been trying it's darndest on investing in hydrogen tech but I have not seen any evidence that can support the claim that they are indeed in the lead when it comes to hydrogen powered vehicle. On the contrary, it's those darn commies in China that's already a step ahead of the Japanese and the world for that matter as @ansy1968 article he linked on his response to your post. Plus, @tphuang have posted several educational and useful information on the activities, investment of Chinese government and companies into hydrogen.

When I go to Chinatown in Oakland or San Francisco sometimes I come across a Chinese restaurant where people are waiting in a long line to get in. Then I'll see a Chinese restaurant right next door and no one is in there except for employees. I often wonder why is that? Sometimes it's gossip and reputation but you figure it has to be about if the food is any good. Why open a restaurant if you just make mediocre Chinese food. Just because they can cook Chinese food, they think people will want it? I have an idiot brother-in-law who always is scheming to make money. One day he had an idea where he rented out a hall and music equipment to have a dance party where people would pay to get in. Far as I know the only advertisement he engaged in was handing out flyers. No one showed up. I don't know how much money he lost but how in hell did he get an idea that would be successful? Just because people like to dance, they were going to come...?

Where in hell did Vinfast get the idea they were going to be successful with their business model? Just because it's an EV which is all the talk in the world, people are going to buy it?

Lol that’s great news, I knew China had a lot of investment in hydrogen as well, but not to that extent.

I mean Japan is definitely “a” leader in hydrogen technology with a lot of investment in adopting the tech to power vehicles, china seems more focused on hydrogen production, but I would love to learn more about their hydrogen vehicles, most of the focus in this thread has been on BEV.
