Depends on if India doesnt force them to hire all their top management team with local staffs and transfer their critical tech to local players and hand ownership to THE LOCAL PLAYER.
To be fair, India now has such a large market and huge population(now the worlds largest) that its difficult for foriegn companies not to be tempted despite any inconvenience or setback. Similar to China when the country opened up and liberalised in the 90s despite requirements for foreign to transfer tech to local player, forced JV with local player being majority owners etc etc Foriegn companies still flocked to make money and got hooked. Win-Win.

China's requirement for automobile JV is 50-50, not majority local.

My commentary on sodium ion batteries

very important and BASF is smart to try to get in on it sooner. Although to be honest, they need to bring some good stuff, because China is so far ahead here right now

BASF will steal the technology, but the world will think German technology is better. It is like Audi building cars on a Chinese car platform. Few people would realize the Chinese part of it.

Can you stop posting nonsense like this. If you insist on it, then answer this?

From whom will they steal the technology?

Whose technology are they stealing?

Where is your evidence they will be stealing?

How do they scale up SIB without China?

In general, I see it as a good thing for Germans to be involved with China, because that guarantees German automakers will use Chinese battery tech going forward. Not that they have much of a choice.

I'm in China now.......almost half the cars in Chengdu and Shanghai are all EV cars....quite amazing! China is truly living in the future, it's adoption of EV is so damn impressive. All the malls have a couple EV showrooms... In US, you'll be lucky to even see one Tesla showrooms anywhere in any big mall, but in China, Chinese EV showrooms are almost everywhere.
