Umm? Why are Chinese companies coming out with their own now? It's not perfect and we know that. Never heard of first mover, first edition, etc? That is the first step and it was not a Chinese company that introduced the first one. Didn't you read people here and elsewhere asking why it was not a Chinese company?

I don’t know about how far along China is with AI, my point is that ChatGPT isn’t really as revolutionary as you think. The only thing it revolutionized is media coverage.

Well… it also revolutionized my workflow too. I can certainly translate Chinese articles a lot faster and better.
If it was useless, why are people still using it? You can get good answers for quite a lot of things about daily life, FYI.

It will improve with time.

Because it’s a toy.

Machine learning of this type has a lot of very useful applications indeed. But it has not proliferated.

ChatGPT is a media stunt, and a useful way to fund further research. But selling 20$ subscriptions to bored American SDF posters isn’t the end game.

OpenAI’s end game is designing and selling AI models to enterprise customers like Ford, Boeing, Wal-Mart, etc for hundreds of millions of dollars, with billions upon billions in theoretical high margin revenue.

And those companies in turn will use AI models to improve products, simplify workflows, and develop entirely new markets for themselves.

I’m already praying for T-Mobile to adopt machine learning to improve their shitty customer service.

I did not use the word 'revolutionary'. After all, it was the first edition. And then you contradicted yourself.

Well… it also revolutionized my workflow too. I can certainly translate Chinese articles a lot faster and better.

It's taking baby steps, baby. I'm using Opera as it is owned by a Chinese company and it already has ChatGPT and ChatSonic attached.
I recall reading some Android apps will use it. So, be patient. IBM is planning to use AI to replace 7,800 human jobs. Not bad for a toy.

You called it a media stunt, followed by the examples of its potential implementation by big inc. Machine learning is just a subfield of AI.

If you want to discuss further, please go to the relevant thread.

With all due respect, the only solution on market that allows such battery replenishment rates is in fact chinese. It's nio battery swapping stations.

Lab tests don't matter, at least for now.

True, but in future, it would be nice to have another option. There are reasons battery companies are researching into ever faster charging. Technical challenges will have to be tackled based on cost-effectiveness.

Lab tests hardly matter. I don't recall HiNa and CATL having third-party tests on their sodium-ion batteries. For a startup with a major investor that will also become its customer, it can simply send near-market samples to them for testing in their own labs.
