New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

Pretty decent review on BYD Seal that will soon be launching in countries like Australia among others

I just read that Switzerland is thinking of banning the use of electric cars should there be continuously enforced blackouts during winter. If that became the norm throughout Europe and many other counties throughout the world, we could see a slow down in sales in the coming years until things improved. Europe might have to revisit its banning of new ICE cars by 2035 which is sort of ok by me.

Again, VW is going to build cars in China and export them back to Europe. This is what European Deindustrialization looks like

I'm surprised that it has happened this quickly but the first Atto 3 assembled in India has already rolled out its Chennai factory.
BYD is aiming for 15k sales in 2023 (its first year) in India. I think they are also looking into a second factory
While the news from Europe is welcome, the last thing I want to see is Chinese companies setting up factories in India. BYD should be discouraged from doing this.

Saw the news this morning on this new parts plant in Shaanxi Province but just posting it now. Basically, BYD has mastered the art of utilizing all the 2nd/3rd/4th tier cities + villages/counties around them for production. If you run out of space in Xi'an or Hefei, that's no problem. Just keep your final assembly in big city for the more highly educated work force and then move the less sophisticated production of parts to nearby villages that are just an hour away. Easy to manage that supply chain, can utilize the lower cost labor and keep provincial bosses really happy. That's why BYD is by far the largest private employer in China.

The Nordics which are the epicenter of the European EV revolution, have no problems getting gas from the North Sea to run their power plants or the wind for wind generators.

As for the rest of Europe, they have to bite the nail and go both nuclear and coal, the latter which Germany is plentiful.
