They signed a deal with GCL Energy for battery replacement project. I'm actually not sure what's going on here. Maybe they are looking for something like NIO's battery replacement system?

Kind of amazing Apollo already have contract for $1.6 billion for autonomous driving. Maybe this is with players like BYD paying them for their product and services. Would make sense if you don't want to do the development on your own.

NIO and Tencent have teamed up for autonomous driving. Tencent had not been known to be involved in this direction before. Looks like Tencent will be providing cloud service as well as mapping service.

CATL is creating a new electric shipping technology company. I presume this is for battery and autonomous service for electric ships. Btw, BYD also has this. Interesting to see these two battle it out.

NavInfo is providing mapping service for FA Hongqi. Keep in mind that they provide mapping for several big players including BYD (I think)

BYD is building unmanned boat for Orca. This will supposedly be used to clean lakes/ponds in parks. But I think this is one of the new future revenue opportunities for battery makers. After cars, mopads, skyrail, ESS and trucks, boats and aircraft should be next.

And a lot of resources on autonomous technology. Navinfo is quite the big player here.

The cooperation is expected to be officially launched by the third quarter of this year with the results working their way through to the mainstream models of ten different automobile brands including Ford, Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Dongfeng-Nissan and BYD.

From Chinese social media, Jinan started production on Nov 30th. This is their 7th car plant. It will be followed by phase 1/2 of Zhengzhou, phase 2/3 of Hefei, phase 4 of Xi'an, Shenshan base, Changzhou phase 2, Fuzhou phase 2. There are also Xiangyang and Nanning project being planned out.

They continue to make in road everywhere. Just won a 320 million RMB ESS project with Zhejiang energy development company in Wenzhou for 200 MWh of storage at 100 MW power.

XPeng numbers is a disaster. G9 really isn't going well. They say that production will be back to 10k in December, but that's still really low. Leapmotor numbers look not great.

NIO is at 14k, so they are actually finally increasing production, but it's still far from what they need to break even.

Zeekr is doing really well. I think it helps to have a management that has been producing cars for many years. GAC continues to do well also.

The new YunBa (skyshuttle) by BYD is put into operation now at Pingshan. This is still a small business for them, but they have projects for this everywhere.

More from BYD on Chinese social media. Looks like we got their pickup truck and sea lion in this photo.

Denza D9 is having some delivery issues due to covid. They produced 3500 D9 for delivery but only delivered 2000. Shanghai delivery is taking especially long. The delivery goal for December is 7000+. Average sales price is 415k RMB and they are selling 7000 a month.

7061 orders for Atto 3 from Thailand in November. Off the chart demand. Looks like the promise for 10k delivery by January simply isn't enough for the demand.

It is time for them to move sales from Japanese makers to local Chinese EV makers, like xpeng and leapmotors. The buying power is there, but local EVs need to get more recognition from local bashers.
