New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

key word is creating. . All those EV vehicles have long wheel base, wide track that make it hard to maneuver. battery size define the power and weight. with no data on long term reliability of suspension and tire life. certainly alot of semi-conductor needed to control the wheel spin.

The suspension and tire life are characteristics that can easily be modelled. Look at pickup truck designs
Control of wheel spin is also far easier with an electric motor than with mechanically driven shafts.

Every electric vehicle manufacturer is struggling to produce enough vehicles because the demand is too great.
Off-road vehicles are a niche product which is not relevant for 99% of the population, so of course they are low priority.

Lol, BYD doesn't just talk like Tesla. It actually delivers stuffs. More details about the off roader will come out this year and it will go into production next year.

BYD is developing a whole host of different industrial type EVs right now. FCEVs are also getting a huge push in China. All the non-military stuff will be switching off diesel sooner or later. I mean the next step is to start taking shipping off oil. That will take longer. But the industrial automotive industry in China will get transitioned off diesel over the next 10 years. And, they will be able to export a lot of them.

Alright, numbers are out. 571k NEVs in June. This should go up steadily in H2. If we see no further major lockdowns, maybe we hit 6 million in sales this year.

NEV export for June
Not sure the breakdown for each of these. Maybe SAIC numbers are mostly the Wuling Mini EV.
Looks like Tesla Shanghai production was mostly for domestic consumption in June.
Also for Geely, that's probably Volvo?
BYD number looks a lot larger than I expected. It should go up steadily by later this year once they steady shipment to Australia and ASEAN countries.

I still keep on praying that BYD will make a EV sports hatchback some like a ford focus st.
Seems like hatchback really is more a European thing.

This is kind of interesting. Hydrogen fuel cell have long been assumed to be really inefficient. And they still are, but with technological improvement, they will get a lot more efficient. Not as efficient as current battery technology, but industrial vehicles, military vehicles and shipping could all get into using fuel cells.

do you have any example of doing similar wheel travel when whole load of vehicle is practically on one wheel. this strong suspension so when you hit curb in parking the suspension damage is not much. in addition the vehicle comes with 17 or 18 tire size. so alot of tire tread for long life.

its general industrial collapse around the world that made ICE vehicle production goes down alot.
why you think Off-road vehicles are niche product?. These are easily modify with external fuel tank which is necessary when you put a safety cage on it.
