As to the movie it was watchable but I think it lacked originality. I obviously won't give out any spoilers but it didn't seemed like a smooth transition from ROTJ. The plots were quite predictable and there were a few scenes I thought was quite ridiculous in terms of SW universe context.

As a standalone movie I would give it 8 but as part of the SW saga I give it a 6.

Of course I liked the film very much..mainly because it pays homage to episodes IV,V & VI.

If I ranked it with the orginal trilogy It would be #2 with The Empire Strikes back #1. On a scale of one to 10 I'd give this film an 9.

Just my opinion.

By the way I never purchase any concessions at a movie theater. Never. Never...

I watched it last night and there were some pretty nice looking ladies dressing up as Princess Leia costumes (the one when she was Jaba the Hut's trophy slave).:D

Anyway the movie wasn't so bad and neither was the line. I didn't have a problem finding parking and since I bought my tickets online I just used my smart phone to show proof of purchase and walked right into the theater (I was about 45 minutes early). The one thing I don't like about the experience is all that previews that kept showing.

The big thing that bothered me was how a certain character was able to pretty much mastered many Jedi skills w/o proper training. Luke spent months trained by yoda in dagobah. It would've been nice if something similar happened here..

Went to see it last evening! I think I need to buy me a lottery ticket!
I bought the ticket online yesterday and for some unexplained reasons I was able to get the 9 pm showing one! and my luck was just starting.
My buddy and I left late at about 7.45. Got there at about 8 to pick up my tickets while he waited in the car.. looked around and they had designated wait line for the different showings. I saw 10, 11, 12 etc but NO 9 pm and there were already folks lined up for those showings.
I asked one of the workers where the 9 pm line was.
The kid was like .. hmm sir we took down the 9 pm line an hour ago! Everyone already went into the theatres! it started lining up at 6.
Oh well so I went back to the car and told my friend to hurry up so we could get in quickly. He started complianing how hungry he was and that it didn't matter now anyway etc which has a point.
So we went to the nearby Subway and had dinner there. Got back to the theatre at about 8.30 resigned to the fate that we'll be either sitting in the front row corner or sanding on the side. There were already hundreds of other people sitting, standing etc in line for the different SW showings.
Got to the ticket checker showed him my stub for the 9 pm and he said theatre 6.
OK.. we walked towards theater 6 EXCEPT theater 6 had 007 Sceptre on NOT SW.
Ask the concession guy hmm we're here to watch SW not James Bond for 9 pm. He was like theatre 6 sir. I was like but 6 is 007 Sceptre and he replied no worries just go to theatre 6.

So we went inside still unsure and the theater was only half full! We got to sit right smack in the middle .. the perfect spot! Asked the few people around if this was James Bond or SW and they said I think SW ... LOL.. 20 minutes into it the Lucas Films logo came on and everyone cheered and clapped!

Crazy! Bought tickets in the afternoon, showed up 30 minutes before showtime and got the best set in the house!!!!

I think I know what happened though. They oversold the 9 pm showing and had to opened up another. This was one of the few times procrastination worked!

It seems too PC for me, its been Disneyed, which means PC, Preachy, and D0-Gooder??? Star Wars was kinda sweet and innocent, with values and ethics and just amazing, when they where flying the speeders over the ice planet Hoth, going up the hill then down took my stomach for a ride, just like flying or going over a "whoop-de-do", very visceral, th

I hear people say it's going to beat Avatar at $2.9 billion worldwide. One sign that made Avatar and before that Titanic beat all-time records was the box office grew after the first week and not naturally go down. They're predicting maybe around $225 million US domestic this weekend. Usually they estimate first weekend receipts times three as the total in the end. International doesn't always follow that calculation but I believe it's at $130 million for two days which may not have included all markets yet. We'll have to wait until next week to see. If it grows or holds steady, there's a chance.

Probably that person had a much stronger force than Luke does.

OK, just got back from the SW-VII. Got a bit of adventure myself. I got to the theater almost an hour and half before the show to make sure that I got a good seat. And I did, sitting in my perfect seat and patiently waiting... Unfortunately, the projector decided to go malfunction immediately after the Coming Attractions. We had to wait another 15 minutes sitting in the dark, during which time someone decided to do some handpuppeting on the big screen using his cell phone light. some of the light saber fighting (using fingers) accompanied by sound effects were pretty funny. That kept us entertained for a while until the movie theater people told us that we had to switch to another screen, which meant that we had to wait another 30 minutes for the movie to start and then 30 more minutes of the same ole Coming Attractions... And I lost my perfect seat...

Anyway, finally done with the movie. One thing to say about it: absolutely awesome!!! I loved it, loved it, loved it. I WILL go see it again. No doubt about that. I actually think it's better than the ESB (don't hate me)... I don't think the plot was predictable at all. There were some twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. I think that it seemed predictable to some because you guys might have kept up with on-line chats and rumors about the plots a little too well. I know that many have been trying to guess plots and give out predictions based on all the SW books, many of which deal with the 2nd gen characters... I made the decision not to go into any of that stuff and have been unaware of many of the predictions... And I was caught surprised a few times. So I think JJ Abrams did an awesome job.

I'm glad you liked it, but the scheme of destroying the enemy forces is the same as the first episode (IV).

I read that because of the premiere last night online tickets sales spiked so whatever tickets for opening weekend that were still there might be gone by now. I wasn't planning to go to watch Force Awakens for the first week at least. I just don't need to stand in line like when I was kid. But my friend bought me one for early Saturday with reserved seating. So no need to stand in line or rush either.
Yeah i saw it Thursday night reserved seat no line to deal with. But if i think there will be plenty of showings its just a matter of getting a good seat. I saw on the news there were lines for the unreserved seated theaters but they were not as crazy as it was back then.

But i did see some fools think the could snatch up reserved seats just because the ticket holders had arrived yet. I'm glad that the actual ticket holders for those seats were able to claim there spot with little trouble.(I didn't want anything to delay the the start of the movie. Especially with 20 plus minutes of trailers that I already saw online.)
