No need to do anything to H&M. Fast fashion like H&M and Zara are on the decline with China's youths as they pick longer lasting apparel. In addition the European styles of these two retailers do not gel with Chinese street fashion - Balenciaga, SheIn, Uniqlo are much more popular with Chinese. Just let these fast fashion die a slow death as it is happening.

No one cares about Fila and New Balance. Nike is the bigger concern. Maybe just air on social media what Nike is doing to Chinese youths and they should switch to Adidas, Anta, LiNing. But Nike is still really popular which sucks - maybe at this point the Chinese government should create an app compiling the companies that insulted China such as Dolce & Gabbana, H&M etc and let Chinese consumers vote with their wallets. They can just consult the app on which brands to avoid. No need to officially restrict fashion brands as this makes the Chinese government look petty.
No need for official restriction but they can do "unofficial" like this one. Just expose their statements using media or NGO then use some proxies to elevate the issue and you are done.
Maybe not a full assault against Nike as they are a huge Corp but definetely a strong one so that Nike and the other companies learn their lesson and start sourcing from Xinjiang which will help the local economy there

Nike is eminently replaceable. It's called Adidas, plus LiNing and Anta. Don't laugh, the latter two are popular in Chinese third and fourth tier cities.

It's just that Nike is very sticky as a brand. It has a lot of brand power.

Since a lot of Chinese consumers now buy goods online, just create a reminder each time they buy a Nike or Dolce & Gabbana product that the company they are buying from insulted China, and suggest a directly replaceable brand like Adidas or Ferragamo.

I'm quite surprised at how fast Anta is growing. Not too long ago, they completed an acquisition of a Finnish company that owned famous outdoors brands such as Salomon and Arc'Teryx. Part of the acquisition also included Precor fitness products which is a big manufacturer of gym equipment, but they sold that to Peloton because they were only into "Softwear".

Honestly, all this Xinjiang talk is just that. Please post when this is mall all closed down:

Dolce and Gabbana are screwed already.

The founders of D&G recently filed a lawsuit against journalists claiming millions of dollars in lost revenue from the Chinese market, after Chinese consumers boycotted the brand. I mean you insulted China and you want to file for damages due to lost revenue in the Chinese market? Tells you a lot about the moral standing of these Italian fashion billionaires. May they rot in the lowest level of Dante's Hell.

China wants to reach a free trade agreement with the GCC states, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Al Arabiya on Wednesday, on the sidelines of his visit to Riyadh.

Let the games begin.
Good opportunity for China to get a trade deal. With the US increasingly wary of trade deals there is an opening for China to increase it influence in the Middle East

LOL.. WTH? Then H&M has two tough choices:

1) Fire that exec. Apologize to China and the Chinese people. And try to work on damage control. Then maybe, just maybe their business in China could still be saved. But do it fast, that 'window of forgiveness' is shrinking by the hour.
It might be bigger than that.

The RCEP will be here soon.

There are three major producers of cotton in the world. Indian, America, and China.

China will not tolerate a ban on Chinese cotton for the RCEP.

China could insist RCEP uses Xinjiang cotton.

A company like H&M could be losing more than the China market.
