Not that the far right is any better. Ultimately this polarisation and ideological fight comes from dwindling societal resources. When things are plentiful you can smooth over these sort of conflict easily by dividing a bigger and bigger cake. But once the cake start to grow smaller and smaller all sorts of factions come out of the woodwork and fight over their own slice of the diminishing cake.
blinken owes his position to the pentagon and militarists; i reckon he would have sabotaged the talks for their benefit.

Word is report on NHK revealed some details about the US-Japan talk, most importantly the two sides did not discuss placing medium range ballistic missiles in Japan at all.
Weather true or not, if NHK did report this would this not constitute Japan backstabbing US again after getting chewed out by Zhao Lijian and then getting a friendly visit by PLAN destroyers including a 055? Surely US would rather keep this vague and Japan revealing this is a "don't look at me, I'm not his dog" move.
I'm still trying to track down a first hand source.
