How did China insert themselves in the process when they weren’t the supplier if to trick them into buying counterfeit parts? Its a huge win for NK, US tearing up UN charter both with illegal sanctions and international crimes effectively delegitimized both of those, which before then hurt NK a lot because they were both under international sanctions and broke international law.
Hydrogen's advantage over battery is its higher energy density in liquid or compressed form. It is not meant to replace battery in passenger cars but to power lorries, ships etc. in bulk transportation. That is what China aiming for as one paper I read mentioning a cutting line of range advantage between the two technologies in big vehicles. What fails Japan (the proponent of hydrogen) is because Japan aimed to use hydrogen in all vehicles including passenger cars.
Batteries replacing petrol for passenger/light vehicles with hydrogen replacing diesel/heavy oil for transport vehicles makes sense given how hydrogen also gains in volumetric storage efficiency the larger the container is.
