Well Singapore is actually quite pro-Western, the ordinary folks are. The elite is on the fence though.

South Koreans are not very pro-American these days, quite neutral. Japanese elite is pro-American but ordinary Japanese don't give a flying fuck about politics.

A pity, considering Singaporeans are ethnic Chinese. Maybe it's because they speak English. Not a fan of Singapore
Exactly they treat the white like a god believe me you will be disappointed working in Singapore For the same job description they give the white better apartment , better wages, better amenity and some cased better grade Go find other place than Singapore . I rather move to Malaysia at the least the slower pace , better housing, Chinese school and culture are protected by the constitution and No white worshipping Chinese I really don't understand I guess they come from lower strata of society and watch too many Holywood movie I puke

China has made a choice but Russia still remains somewhat reluctant. See the Polar Silk road where they dragging negotiations, see Russian influence to the Central Asia states posing some resistance to growing cooperation with China.

These are all under surface but Russia is still not 100 per cent commited with China and is still trying to hedge with EU (disaster lol) and is trying now with individual EU countries.

You can see this when in the past months Putin said that Russia is fundamentally an European country which signals that Russia hasnt fully turn to Asia.

Now that Biden has taken this stance, Russia better go to the EU countries and have a strategic dialogue on how they see Russia and pressure them to finally take a decision to have an independent strategy towards Russia or they will simply follow the US.

Germany, under Merkel, tries to have rational relations with Russia but is getting sabotaged from the US, and the European Eastern Countries (Baltic states mostly).

France, under Makron also understands what is at stake here but it seems unable to take firm stance on France's relations with Russia, it becomes more bipolar as time passes, no consistency at all
You see this is the reason why macron said that containing China is akin to "creating highest possible conflict" and merkel is in the same opinion
Therefore as long as germany and france stays neutral, there won't be any hard China russia fullblown alliance
Both macron and merkel knows that if the eu joins the us in fullblown cold war 2 against China, they will be facing a warsaw pact 2.0 this time supported by overwhelming economic might of China

Well, both Germany and France know that Russia can't conquer and occupy Poland, much less than the rest of the Europe. And that the EU would still have a population and economy many times larger than Russia.

In comparison, the Chinese military could theoretically take and then hold Europe, if was deployed on the Russian borders.

So it doesn't make sense for the EU to push Russia too much.

Holy shit, Yang Jiechi is blasting them straight in the face from the word go. Even said "I would like to remind the US delegates: watch your language and tone"

The Americans tried to get all the journalists to leave the room but the Chinese said they should remain as it would be unfair on them.

He's opening address in Chinese:

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Reuters) - The Biden administration began its first high-level in-person talks with rival China on Thursday, saying that Chinese actions threaten a global order based on rules and vowing that Washington would also stand up for its friends.

"We do not seek conflict, but we welcome stiff competition, and we will always stand up for our principles, for our people, and for our friends," the U.S. national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said at the start of talks with Chinese counterparts in Alaska.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken told China's top diplomat, Yang Jiechi, and State Councilor Wang Yi in Anchorage that the U.S. side would discuss its "deep concerns" about Chinese actions in Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as cyber attacks on the United States and economic coercion of allies.

"Each of these actions threaten the rules-based order that maintains global stability," he said.

In lengthy response to the U.S. opening statements, Yang hit back, accusing the United States of using its military might and financial supremacy to pressure countries and of abusing national security to threaten the future of international trade.

He said Xinjiang, Hong Kong and Taiwan were all inseparable parts of Chinese territory and China firmly opposed U.S. interference in its internal affairs.

Yang said human rights in the United States were at a low point with Black Americans being "slaughtered" and added that the United States should handle its own affairs and China its own.

Yang said it was necessary to abandon a "Cold War mentality," and confrontation and added:

"The way we see the relationship with the United States is as President Xi Jinping has said, that is we hope to see no confrontation, no conflict, mutual respect and win-win cooperation with the United States."
