You have to look at it from the current US admin’s point of view. The fact that they are even open to negotiations is seen as weakness by both houses. They risk evisceration by the domestic audience if they don’t at least put up an image of toughness.

Well Singapore is actually quite pro-Western, the ordinary folks are. The elite is on the fence though.

South Koreans are not very pro-American these days, quite neutral. Japanese elite is pro-American but ordinary Japanese don't give a flying fuck about politics.

A pity, considering Singaporeans are ethnic Chinese. Maybe it's because they speak English. Not a fan of Singapore

When exactly is the meeting supposed to start?
I saw that the chinese delegation has already landed and went into the hotel in Anchorage, but I dont know if the meeting has started or it is supposed to start later

Thursday and Friday in Anchorage, Alaska. It has likely already started because it's know 12:45 in Anchorage. The Chinese delegation landed yesterday evening in Alaska.

Thanks, I also saw from one article (Nikkei I think?) that the meeting could last for a maximum of 9 hours. We will see

It's all about the countries' histories, how they are created. Singapore is a successor state of British empire. Japan and Korea have been countries of their own before meeting the west. Ethnicity means nothing of political alignment, never have been.
