The USG explicitly uses its media as propaganda with input from the Pentagon and CIA. The fact that the US media consistently wages a propaganda war against cultures it compete with is well documented eg the insistent need for hollywood to always portray Asian men as weak, effeminate. The problem is that propagandising and misinforming their people and leaders has led to some disastrous policy decisions eg Trump's trade war against China and now the newly branded 're-risking from China' after the failed trade war.
This is the attitude that far too many Westerners have when they visit Asia, and quite frankly, certain Asian nations acting as the whorehouses, brothels and military feudal vassals of the Anglos, does not help this image.
