Both Thaksin and The Bhumjaithai Party don't want to agitate the monarchy and military and provoke a civil war within Thailand.
“This is Bhumjaithai’s core principle that cannot be changed or negotiated,” the party said in a statement posted on Facebook. “Bhumjaithai cannot vote for a prime minister candidate of a party that has a proposal to amend or abolish Article 112.”

Earlier this week, Thaksin Shinawatra also sought to distance his family from the push of Pita’s party to “lese majeste” even as Pheu Thai party which the former premier backs had agreed to join hands with Move Forward.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.

These people in ASEAN countries do not exactly have a revolutionary spirit, or mind set.

Radicals like the Move Forward party in Thailand, will be isolated and get crushed by the same old power blocks.

It is like class struggle, but only in name, because after a little noise is made, we know who is going get it, yet again. The oppression continues.

Asian political extremists are just on a completely different level compared to the average MAGA. Like that Japanese dude that constructed a homemade gun to kill Abe in a country free of guns while MAGAs have thousands of guns and issue countless of death threats but never fire a gun on the politicians despite claiming they are keeping the guns to kill the "tyrannical" government.

Tbf MAGA crowds are proud (too much actually!) of their heritage so don't believe in ruining a part of it unlike hongkong youth who has a severe identity crisis, Now if this was a Black church or township things would have been way different just like if some white British men in uniform were to guard the legislative council, Both parties are not capable of going against their programming so to speak

Americans are cowards. Their founding fathers gave them rights to bear arms against tyranical governments but they only have the balls to shoot children. All the bravado yet only started one rebellion. For reference, French knows how to let their voice be heard...

All the more illustrative of the hypocrisy that cannot be more blatant - MAGA are treated like the scum of the earth, ultimate enemy to democracy for loving their country so much they dared not to desecrate their institutional relics; meanwhile the black shirts in HK are the "paragons of freedom" and a "beautiful sight to behold" for trashing the city's legislature and and turning HK into a hellhole because of a law that was actually written by the British whom they worshiped so much.

Both are due to misplaced anger MAGA wants to go back to the prosperous 50s and 60s and believes giving voice to minorities and liberal ideology is the cause for current ongoing downfall they don't realise USA was the only industrialized nation left after WW2 there was no competition so of course a blue collar worker can afford a house with a picket lawn, car and a family with couple of years worth of wage and it's not coming back, Same is true for HK youth, Housing crisis caused this troubles but unlike British Chinese government didn't want to strong arm HK tycoons before especially since they owned the media, Unfortunately for them Xi Jinping don't f*ck around.
