It is due to Demographics of Sweden and Switzerland that they dont have much people to move to US.

Japan has even larger and higher quality Auto Industry. why Musk does not go there and start EV revolution?. its even easier as he was using Panasonic batteries, LG/Samsung Semiconductors. Tesla premium vehicles Panasonic batteries have proven for long term less degradation. infact Japan ideal place as right had side would have much easier to export to countries like UK and some others in Asia who follow British driving. Japanese tire giants are more advanced in dealing with emissions.

Aviation is hard power but Airline is soft power and either or both can be strategic. State of Qatar has spent enormous in creating its image and influence in various corners of the world and Russia want to associate with this Soft Power. It has nothing to do with investment of bringing tech or machinery. Its all about Soft Power.

Germany raise its importance and forcing US arms on Europe that will give Germany enhance leverage in shaping US policies globally as German acts to unite Europe under US leadership.. You are including past data which basically include US as nation of immigrants absorb more people. but now it has to increasingly compete with Canada , Europe and Mideast who lacks hard power of US but has Soft Power. Soft power is people attitudes and creating better inclusive work environment.

in fact being too dependent on U.S technology is now seen as a investment risk, which given the evidence probably is.
Lets think about that, a lot of Chinese companies are buying U.S. products out of necessity and no because they want to buy it. That is an horrible position to be for everyone.
