Thai youth looks down on Chinese people? Are they high or something? So they're no different than Filipinos then? Why are our poor neighbors think oh so highly of themselves when both of these countries are nothing but sex haven for the sex-hedonistic craven westerns, and horned up Asians? I don't get it.
They think because they can "vote" and have some form of western democracy automatically means they're better than commie China. This smacks of people being dumb by essentially choosing to select procedural democracy over substantive democracy where actual things on the ground and lives of ordinary people improve.
I think using the term "look down on" is perhaps incorrect. I think they despise China due a number of perceptions, in no particular order are:
Bad mannered Chinese tourists.
Believing China has become rich due to the Joe average in the US sending money to China via Walmart, but nothing to do with the hard work, sacrifices, and great planning and governance of China over the past decades (BTW, many Indians are convinced that this is the case).
Technological advances only via stealing, copying, or buying from the West.
China / Chinese behaving like a typical *new rich* (暴發戶) and hence considered unsophisticated and uncultured.
Obviously the Western propaganda contributed greatly to the above perceptions of China, but we equally can't deny the behaviours of some mainland Chinese tourists also contributed as well.
