But nothing less then Russia, China, India, Iran, North Korea and so on pounding both sides of the coast of the USA while wiping every single piece of energy x military infrastructure from the face of the earth while ensuring the global south treats the US collective like the vindictive scum they are to ever get these elite and liberal mad men to ever listen to reason and even they they will probably end up whining about how God isn’t their to rapture their sorry ass out of the world. My guess is that Washington DC wants English Vegetable to purge the ROC military of any remaining pro-KMT and pro-unification elements, therefore fully transforming Taiwan into another Ukraine in the WestPac.

Therefore, I think Beijing should really kickstart preparation for a total war against the US-led NATO-plus/+ (here, 'plus/+' means US "allies" that are outside of NATO) - Enter into semi-wartime economy, increase military budget and personnel recruitment, expanding equipment and platform procurement, intensifying improvement and upgrade efforts, heighten military R&D efforts across the board, prepping the populace for worst-case scenarios during wartime, etc.

In the meantime, however, Beijing should also try to keep the conflict delayed for as long as possible.

The problem for the americans if they want to push DPP to declare independence, they will lose most of the support from the populace, taiwan unlike ukraine before the war is not basket case economy, their living standard are among the highest in asia, they have a everything to lose in a war

And if taiwanese people in taiwan are the same taiwanese people i know in australia, they are money hungry, highly enterpreneurship, and no offence not the fighting or warlike type of people, i really don't see these people willing to sacrifice their livelihood, living standards and endure hardship like ukrainians in a war instigated by DPP, they will be voted out if it comes to that

Unless if tsai or DPP turned into military dictactorship/junta and start cracking down, jailing and killing any opposition but then again if they do that, it will do wonders to their morale lol, people who are forced to fight against their will tend to surrender rather easily

I guess it's better late than never that China is giving the US a taste of their own medicine. This is what they should be doing all the time including having their own reporters reporting at the scene. This is making the news in the US because no one is suppose to mock the US and China has complied until now and hopefully from now on... relentlessly. I'll predict now if China continues to have their journalists do to the US/West what Western journalists do to China, they'll be arresting Chinese journalists helping to further the narrative that the West doesn't believe in their own values.

According to Guanqi, the powers that be didn't want to open this can of worm initially because they were not confident that Chinese domestic media have what it takes to blow up this story.

But it seems like once the common people jumped on this on weibo and started dunking on the Americans they figured on well, might as well give it a try. The dude who went to Palestine wearing PPE is well known to have big balls and willing to go and report on spicy issues in the US. I think once the flood gate is open there won't be shortage of young Chinese reporters who would want to give Western media a taste of their own medicine so all this is good development.

Indeed US is retreating on one front, so they're trying to create a credible threat in another front.

While China could go for calling their bluff and destroying the US invasion forces, this route also has the most uncertainties.

Instead, a better way might be to put greater pressure on the Europe front, making sure that US cannot ignore it.

When US sends officials to agitate in Chinese-owned land, China should send officials to agitate in western-owned land, I.e. the LDPR. And with that visit, also sales of equipment. 50-100 Polonez-M missile launchers to the LDPR (operated by Russia) would give them artillery that further out ranges anything Ukraine has and has strong counter battery capability.

China should ensure that US can't turn its attention away from Europe without significant pain. Russia must be encouraged or even coerced to hold maximalist claims on Ukraine, ensuring that once they win, Russian presence close to the borders of Europe will be like an open sore for the EU, and a constant threat of Russian revanchism, just as America threatens China with American and Japanese revanchism.
