BBC News - Ohio train derailment: How dangerous are the chemicals?
Still no mention of dioxins.
I studied the Vietnam War as an elective back in College and the effects of Agent Orange (effectively Dioxins) are not pretty.
Think deformed children of the Thalidomide baby variety- babies born without eyes, and smooth skin over where the eyes should be, or babies born with stunted limbs- very similar to the birth deformities of Iraqis poisoned by depleted uranium munitions from the 2000s.
Back in the 60s, the US sprayed Agent Orange to deny the Vietcong foliage cover of the thick south east asian jungles- and whilst this did achieve the desired effect of deforestation, it also resulted in dioxin poisoning of vietnamese as well as the US soldiers who handled Agent Orange (so named because of the orange cannisters used to disperse the agent).
Depending on the exposure of the americans living in the Ohio area, i wouldn't discount the possibility of birth defects in americans in Ohio born 2023-onwards.
There’s a reason I specifically referenced that clip from “Chernobyl”, apparatchiks clinging onto the belief in the superiority of ideology and refusing to acknowledge the gravity of the disaster heralding the fall of their regime.
