Some women who were advocating for cryptocurrency trading in Turkey recently opened OnlyFans accounts. Crypto has no use other than being able to get sold to other people who are trying to get rich without working.

There are two problems with crypto currency:
1. It can be indefinitely mined.
2. Anyone can come up with a new currency.

It's no coincidence that the fall of crypto came shortly after the proliferation of different kinds of crypto currency. Currency is just a medium for trade, and in order for that to function, people need to trust in the currency and use a common standard.

Crypto mining is just printing money. When anyone can do it, it undermines confidence in the currency's value. When anyone can create a new crypto currency, it undermines confidence in all crypto currency.

A blockchain based currency can certainly work, but it will need to pay by the same rules as existing currencies, because those rules exist for very good
reasons.

Contrary to popular belief, nothing about "Open"AI is open. However, nothing about what ChatGPT is is a secret - it's just the first such model to reach popular consciousness. There's going to be a slew of similar systems in the coming weeks/months, and some of them will be open source.

The difficulty isn't in the source code, it's in the resources required to host and train the model.
What sort of computer is needed to run these AI systems? Could you run it on a home computer?

Models need to be continually trained and something like a convolution neural net work requires serious computational power from GPUs. You can technically run it on a home PC, but the process will be so slow that it is not worth it.

It's all cloud based of course, so you could just host a program that fetches results from a cloud server.

Most likely sabotage at this point. Too many derailments as of lately.

Sabotage is IMO the main reason why they keep things quiet in Ohio.

There is no conspiracy.

This is just the state of the North American rail industry at the moment. They are squeezing every last ounce to make money.

Since the 80's we have seen mass privatization in Canada, and in the whole continent as a whole, an overall trend towards deregulation and removing government oversight.

Unionized senior staff are early retired to save money and replaced with less experienced and cheaper recent hires.

Another poster pointed out the prevalence of "Precision Scheduled Railroading" as a contributing factor

PSR was pioneered by Hunter Harrison who was a railway executive all over North America until his sudden death, which means large Rail networks all over the continent have adopted this practice

Bill Ackman, "activist" investor, started a shareholder revolt to get Hunter Harrison installed as CEO at CP railroad in Canada. His only goal is to make money for himself, he's not going to worry about safety.

As pointed out by @Atomicfrog, in Quebec, there was a huge explosion which basically destroyed a town in Canada
