I remember we have had several members saying China should stay out of overt support for Russia or outright rejection of them in order appease the Euros so they wouldn't have an excuse to go against China.

Guess the euros don't really need an excuse for that. Shocking /s
Well, China is not basing its policies on those people.

Regardless of what EU says, China will continue it's path of deindustrializing Europe through proxy war. It will also continue to promote eurosceptism and help any free thinking leaders of Europe resist EU pressure.

When the corporatists of the EU commission have been shattered, then shall China sign bilateral, individually negotiated treaties with every stalelet in Europe, to the continued benefit of the Chinese economy.

Don’t blame China. They did it to themselves.

The de-industrialization of Europe happened because of the USA and USA alone, that China simply took advantage of European stupidity is what anyone with a brain will do and should do because Europe is that stupid. Besides, even with the USA trying to steal those industries means nothing if the nation falls apart from all its issues so really, let this play out and let the USA be dragged through the mud the more the EU suffers. In the end, China will benefit no matter what, but if the EU becomes Chinas opponent, well all I can say is that with all the problems the EU has and with a shattering amount of shortages incoming, this would be the worst possible time for the EU to pick a fight because at that point, if the EU burns it’s last bridges, all China has to do here is inform the Russians that they is no longer any investment worth having in Europe and Russia is free to do whatever they want and let the Middle East know the dangers of investing in Europe. Then let’s see how long they last

Firearms aren't allowed to be carried by police officers of the People's Police (人民警察) when on-duty and doing normal patrols.
This does not seem true. From what I have read while CJDBY was still alive, Chinese police officers are of course allowed to carry firearms on duty but many, if not most, choose to not to even if they can.

Not all local detechments have adequate equipment and training although this has been changing lately. And not all police officers want to deal with the draconian rules on firearm uses, in particular the hassles of review and retrospection afterwards. Both issues make many officers uncomfortable and unconfident with using firearms.

Strict gun control in China also makes it unnecessary for police to carry firearms in daily jobs in most parts of the country.

NATO intervention in the Taiwan problem should have been expected and taken into account by Beijing planners and policy makers by this point.

This is going to be a China-versus-West civilizational clash.

China and the US are locked in a cold war. We must win it. Here's how we will

The United States must confront China around the globe. China's leader Xi Jinping is more emboldened than ever

As above demonstrates, some delusional U.S. and European policymakers attempt to fight a new Cold War against China by forming an alliance. Their attempt will end in failure for both ideological and economic reasons.

Why they will fail for both ideological and economic reasons:

Why the global democratic alliance is nothing more than a Western fantasy

  • The West likes to argue that market capitalism and political liberalism go hand in hand; in reality, the former has proved far more powerful than the latter
  • Having made countries around the world economically interdependent, the West should not expect them to jeopardise their global links by taking political sides

More reasons why they will fail economically:

China's counter sanctions on Australia vastly reduced the amount of purchases they made. This caused a major crisis in the Australian economy which started to shrink after a long period of continuous growth. The only remaining major import if iron ore, but China is continuing to increase its imports of iron ore from Brazil, Russia, and exploring further mines in Africa. If these countries expand their production then Australia might simply find itself not importing anything at all to China in the future.
Well... but if you believe Sky News Australia, Australia is doing very well thank you very much. Indeed it's China that is suffering without Oz goods, which are now being sold elsewhere and especially India now that a FTA has been signed. India is going to replace China for Oz exports...
